ok, so I could up it some.... I am going to take out the Omega 6s though. She does not need that stuff.... The 3s are what I am looking for anyway.

If you are feeding Fish oil you have to add in Vitamin E as well. Fish oil depletes the dogs natural Vit E so you must replenish it. 400iuis should be sufficient. I give my dog 2000mg of Fish oil per day with 800 iuis of vit e.

I forgot to mention I do add a plethora of supplements daily as well. I feed Prozyme, DE, and Vit. E.
Would any of these inhibit the digestion of the Omega 3?

by EAP44 on 30 November 2010 - 17:11

No but prozyme will help with the digestion of anything you feed. Very good supplement. Just be sure to add a vit e in their as well or else the fish oil will actually start to dry out the dogs coat and make it brittle. Im assuming DE is Dimateous earth? Ive never used it as an in food supplement but know people who have with no issues. I, however would not use it.

if you have a flea/tick/bedbug problem, ever, i've heard that Cedarcide is really really good AND non-toxic. not sure if i spelled it right. could be cedarside, but you can check it out on (stephaniemiler.com - its a left wing site-HORRORS, but it is supposed to be good. and i am a lefty lol). if it can help your dogs in the "big picture", who cares where it came from?

There is a really great plant that repels fleas, Erigeron (common name fleabane).  You can get it at any nursery.

There is also a flea spray made out of Erigeron as well as several other aromatic, flea repelling herbs.

There are several on the market-it is great for spraying dog bedding and the dog too.

Also, nematodes are used in the soil to kill the larva.
