Why is there both a rope and a leash involved here? What is the purpose of the rope? Is food attached to it?

Read the thread carefully ninja, the answers to your questions are there....No mention of a rope at all....I said, leash and string....I will clarify the term string though, ..It is a heavy thick string, strong enough so that it won't break once tension or pressure is applied to it... Its Not a rope.......

Also, we make sure there are no alligators around BEFORE we let our dogs in the water....However, living in the south we have the knowledge to know that at this time of the year, the gators are not in open waters...They are in the marsh, or as some may know it, the swamp..... But thats off topic, but just alittle gator education as to why its safe for our dogs in the water at this time of year....

Sorry nona. just re-read it and you had stated there is a toy on the end. LOL

I was just kidding about the gators, but I know you have them down there.

Hey what the heck they taste like chicken anyway.

The taste of gator is often compared to chicken, but it really does have a unique taste of its own....Kinda sweet.......Also different parts of the gator, taste different, just as different cuts of beef taste different......Gator meat is a very clean meat, not red like beef....The main way gator is prepared and cooked, is fried like chicken...OMG...YUMMY.....There is nothing like a meal containing, fried gator, frog legs, softshell crabs, shrimp, fish, and oysters.....and almost forgot, fresh home grown potatoes cut like french fries.....everything battered and fried like chicken...

WOW, I just got hungry......

My niece is in the Navy, and her Hubby in the Marines both are stationed in CA...When they come home for Christmas, this is their first meal served to them...A BIG family gathering...Can't wait till than....

Why does every oddish kind of meat "taste kinda like chicken" I've heard it said of everything from Gator to frogs legs to turtle...  LOL   Woodchuck and squirel taste more like rabbit... but then again some think rabbit tastes a bit like chicken too..

Great pictures... 3 of my GSD's love swimming, 2 dive in madly, but none nose first. The one of ours that leaped off a 3' high bank into waist deep water and shocked us was the old basset!!  She actually swam. Only one I've seen that didn't sink like a rock.

Sounds really scary to me! I've never seen any kind of dog dive head first! The first time I took my bitch to a big stream ,not the little trickling creeks we have locally, she freaked me out by launching herself right into the strongest part of the current, the deepest part of the stream, fully submerged......OMG I almost died! I thank God I had the 27 foot flexi on her....I'm sure she would have been OK, but I was a freaking wreck! She turned out to be a very strong swimmer, but GEEZ! Way to give me a stroke! jackie harris

My hubbie cooks Gator, when his Cuz brings him some....they are Seminole Indians....my hubbie calls himself "an ol' swamp rat". He says he used to eat it "regular" when he was a kid. jackie harris
