Uwe, no conspiracy, just pathaetic control to promote a dying mythe....
ONE HAND WASHES THE OTHER...
The ONLY PLACE it was posted was a far off link on the 2006 website constructed for the 2006 Sieger Show. How can you "ok" a bid BEFORE the club even hosts the current year's show? How can you be sure they are capable of/have adequate grounds for - such an event before it takes place the first time ... much less grant them an additional year back to back?
When asked - the NBW stated it was posted on the USA Website - it wasn't. She has also declined to consider the other bid for hosting the 2007 Sieger Show.
At least two BAC members knew nothing of another club wanting to host the 2007 event - one knew nothing of the vote period! Blue Tahoe is interested in hosting the 2007 Sieger Show.
If you are a USA member you need to voice your opinion to the President/Board - as this is a very sad state of affairs for USA.
Michael10 and Kathy P,
It takes a lot of work to host such event such as the sieger show. Nobody wants to host it simply because they know its difficult to host, also it is the clubs members decision in a clubs meeting if they want to host it or not, Its not only the clubs president decision.
Have you 2 too taken into consideration that maybe you guys should talk to your clubs president into hosting it? Maybe you guys could develop some experience into hosting theses type of event.
I am neutral on this topic. i only stated that people should not complain about OG WESSCONN hosting the event unless all the facts are known. I myself do not know the bidding process, if a deposit is required, what exactly is the procedure and guidlines for getting a bid. I just get tired of people getting critized without all the facts being out there for all i know if OG WESCONN did not bid on the 2007 show there might not be Sieger show in 2007. If someone knows exactly what the process is they should post it that way everyone can make a fair judgement. I had no problem with this years show except the weather.

Sad state of affairs for USA???
I see the same people in a couple organizations that constantly complain, but yet they will not step up to the plate and become involved i.e. USA board member etc. then you can help keep USA from getting into this Sad state of affairs you call it.
Uwe
IMO, in order to have been truly OFFICIAL, the bid deadline should not had been "hidden" away within the 2006 USA Sieger Show website--but ought to have been formally announced in the Schutzhund USA magazine or on the USA website.
After finally linking to the above unlikely 2006 Sieger Show website, one has to scroll down the damned "Bulletins" and click on STILL ANOTHER LINK.
This well-concealed link states:
"According to the USA event rotation schedule, the 2007 Sieger Show is scheduled to be in the Central Zone. Bids will be considered from all three zones. Bids from the Central Zone will be reviewed first and if a viable bid is not attainable from that zone, any other bids submitted will be reviewed."
If no bids were received from the Central Zone, why didn't USA make an announcement and actively solicit bids from clubs in other regions? Lacking such an announcement, it was very convenient for the Wesconn club to be the first to become aware of and to take advantage of the situation.
Many people with no intention of entering the 2006 USA Sieger Show probably never entertained the thought of going through the 2006 Sieger Show website with a fine-tooth comb looking for a concealed, "by-the-way" announcement that would affect the ENTIRE MEMBERSHIP in 2007.
Why should a club's bid be accepted because of this technical ruse? No club deserves to have a monopoly on the show because of a loophole.
Don't give up--it's never to late--start a petition--file a BOI complaint.
<<>
Louise,
I agree, If there was some foul play, then yes we should allow the BOI to do their job.
Uwe
Great post Louise -
UWE - so you have to be a board member in order to "do something"? I don't agree.

No not at all, but getting more involved helps.
Like so many many times people bitch and complain about how badly an event is run etc. But won't lift a finger to help out. Like the Sieger show we have a couple people that bust their butt 24/7 during the event with paperwork etc. and there is always someone that complains, well HELP OUT. Other National events, complaints about this and that but those same people aren't around when they need volunteers to help.
At the GBM, club delegates not there, then when something is passed that they don't agree with they are on the chat sites complaining, WELL GET INVOLVED.
You can voice your opinion till your blue in the face but until you get involved i.e. club delegate, R.D., Board member, or just someone that speaks up at the GBM then you can't complain if nothing gets done.
Let's TRY this, at the 2007 Sieger show one person from each club, from each region volunteer to go and help out. Also at this years GBM each club from every region send a delegate, then we will have everyones voice on the scene come voting time.
Uwe
I don't think so ......... how about this.
We re-vote on the 2007 Sieger Show and if its in Reno our club (WVSC) has already committed to helping with anything that needs to be done.
PS I have been a delegate when asked, have organized a practice show, done 100% fundraising for our Regional etc. etc. I do have a right to complain when something as crazy as this is passed.
