Not everyone needs a trophy, sometimes just a pat on the back will do. Nice puppy, nice deep bite! Hope you have lots of fun, & maybe....... even.............. get a trophy!  LOL! jackie harris

Don, yep I know. ;)
She does pretty good on tracking with exception of today. The goose poop on the field made her think it was snack time. lol We did a short track after the goose poo one and she did great on that.
For her obedience, we are doing more "focus" type exercises right now.

All I know is that I am having a blast learning with her. :)

Emancipate yourself from mental slavery, because none but ourselves can free our mind.  (Bob Marley).

Enjoy your puppy.

Q-man said it best....Its the owner's responsibility and no one else's.

There is nothing wrong with letting a 4 month old puppy play by getting a bite, as long as no yanking and tugging is done while the puppy actually has a bite......

I am sure jaggirl47 is proud of her baby as she should be....Its important to make it fun for the puppy so just be careful not to make it a bad experience by causing a mouth injury, as I am sure your trainer is aware of....

Good luck with your puppy. She seems to have the right idea of what to do, and with the proper foundation and training, you will get your trophy....

Its nice to know that there are a few here that can see that Jaggirl is having a blast learning. This pup has come from my breeding and is doing well for what I can see.  Its a good thing that there are some here that are willing to give good advice to a new comer. The rest of the remarks should make one wonder why they are here in the first place. I just don't understand why one has to put their ego's in front of sharing with someone the correct way to do things. It is rude comment like what was made here that chases away people like Jaggirl.

Believe me I have been watching this pup and she has been working with a club that puts the dog first rather than their ego's. She hasn't done a lot of bit work with this pup, but what she has done with her has shown promise. Like she said she is learning and if all were like the ones that posted rude remarks, what would she learn? This isn't about bringing the big trophy home but rather to learn how to train with her dog.

Thanks to Bob, Don and  Rugar and the few others that took the time to share with her as she will learn by what you are willing to share here

Each dog is different and the dog will tell you if bite work is a problem during teething. If the dog shows any sign of pain then back off. Some dogs don't give a crap and it doesn't make any difference. The cookie cutter approach is for people that only work one type of dog.

hi. im also a newbe in training wgsd. when my wgsd is 4mons old, the decoy tested her for bite work. this is necessary to test the pup if she's capable for mondio ring training. normally active clubs who regularly compete have professional and license decoys. they can recommend and assess what training is best for your pup.
good luck with you pup.
