Thanks everyone for the kind words. I got Gus when he was 2.5 years old and I was 6 years old. I am now 32...so I have had him with me most of my life.

I do have one more cockatiel, She was the mate to the ole man. She is about 15-16 years old.
I cherrished every day with the ole guy. It was sad when he died, but wasnt totally unexpected.

I am very sorry for your loss. It's pretty amazing how these little guys can worm their way into our hearts. They can be endearing and charming, they have distinct personalities, they interact with us and even enjoy our company as much as we do theirs. I swear they have well developed senses of humor, and enjoy laughing at our "humanness".
