I would never leave it on ever again. I had let Lukas out with his old pinch chain and when he laid down on the deck the ring turned and got stuck between the planks, he started choking himself, fortunatley we were home and heard him, had to pretty much sit on him to stop strangleing himself. It's not something I'd want to risk going through, needless to say scared the shit out of me and the dog. I still leave his leather on though.
