Jenni78

by Jenni78 on 13 October 2010 - 13:10

Ok, fine. You might even be right. But this thread, IMO, is not the place for it. FWIW, I don't even think he's pretty,LOL. Not into showlines at all...couldn't give me one if you paid me $1000.00 along with it. HOWEVER, she asked for CONFORMATION critiques, and I just think it's nasty and serves as a turnoff to new people trying to learn when every thread becomes a bash fest.

I have given my opinion on the dog in the appropriate threads (the ones where she asked for advice on his temperament...here she was just wanting to know how he measured up physically.

Handsome dog and a handsome family :)

Jenni,

I understand what you're saying.

But in my opinion you (universal 'you' not Jenni specifically) should not separate the two and honestly in this particular dog's case, who cares how he's put together physically?  He's a screw loose in the head.

Flipping it on the other side.  Say somebody posted a picture of a dog with phenomenal grips, amazing drive for the work, tracking like a machine and spends his afternoons touring old folks homes.  But that OP had spend months earlier talking about how the dog has no hip sockets, has to be helped to his feet in the morning and has had multiple elbow surgeries, then just like this situation, what does it matter how the dog works/acts, he's physically unsound.

If Deanna hadn't spent over 3 months documenting her exploits with this dog's unstable temperment and just came on here for a physical critique then I agree completely with your point.   But she's made this dog's instabilities a part of him and I'm not going to ignore that part of him just to say 'oh what pretty red pigment he has'.

Yep, good looking pup and I have to agree with Jen, I'm not convinced the dog has bad temperament based on what I've read here either.  I could be wrong but I doubt there is anything wrong with this dog that couldn't be straightened out inside of a week by someone who knows what he/she is doing.

Given the actions of his sire, you can't ignore the genetic influence in the mix.

I'd like to see a handsome dog but all I see is a ugly temperment, a walking liability and a bad example of the GSD breed.

Gorgeous dog Ruger1  I wish you the very best with him.

FHtracker, I will not dispute the fact that she has been on here seeking help for some issues, but you could've just PM'd her about your concerns.

I'll not belabor the point since I haven't seen either of the dogs in question but suffice it to say that I have seen far too many "problem" dogs whose only real problem was their people.  I think we can agree that a temperamentally correct GSD is not the best choice of dog for just anyone.

Thanks everyone for your compliments on my boy.....Preston your comments were very encouraging....

As far as the OT garbage, I am not surprised by FHTrackers comments, this is nothing new. I have addressed FHTracker in the past about taking the contents of my post out of context....I do regret saying too much, as it can be distorted by those with an agenda...The threads are there for everyone to read, and by some chance you miss one FHTracker will post it for you......lol...

I am very glad to know that structurally speaking Prince is correct . As far as his temperament goes, IMO he is sound and stable just needs a firm and confident handler.. I will let the trainer make that call.....As far as I am concerned it's me that is unsound and unstable.....lol..

                                                                         Deanna....: )

Doberdoodle

I think he's a pretty dog, balanced looking, not exactly my personal preference of looks but nice looking nonetheless.  That slideshow is very cool.  Can you give a link to his ped?

Do you plan to breed him?
