i dont see a problem as long as she is in very good health. i have just bred my 6 year old, but this is my first time breeding an old bitch, i dont know the out come yet.
i dont expect many pups, but i am doing it, for keeping a pup. ( litter due in NOV.)
and as i think if she is good and healthy , i think its ok. after all the german do breed up tp 9 years..

Anyway...firestar...if she is healthy, I see no issue w/it. I find it pathetic that in this country, our dogs are in such bad shape that they are considered senior citizens at 7. This is most certainly not the case in other parts of the world. If dogs are kept healthy and in optimum condition, there is no physical reason why a bitch cannot/should not have a litter at 7.

The main thing is optium health for the bitch...I definitely would do it, but surely visit your vet and get their opinion on her health..., which I am sure you already know about that......Thanks for posting and asking opinions of others instead of doing something that you have no idea about.....This forum is still a very excellent place to learn.....There are still experienced and knowledgeable people here...

If the dog is healthy and last litter was OK and she is worth breeding then I have no problem with it up to 9.
There is one aspect of genetics which is not addressed often enough. Longevity. I believe that if the bitch can produce in late age that tells me that she is "young " enough and will probably live longer then bitch which is done and can not produce after she is 4. Longevity of dogs is getting shorter and shorter. This I believe, is one of the way to promote longevity in the genetic pool.
Also.
I have noticed that you got mildly offended by people asking you about motivation to breed such female. Nobody is "acting so high and mighty" here as you say. People are just giving you their opinions on YOUR question. Motivation is an extremely important part of this subject if you are considering breeding a female in any age. When you breed dog you can not and should not divorce yourself from the motivation of breeding any dog and older she gets stronger the motivation needs to be. Example. If she is an exceptional dog and I have just lost my last stud from her during the armed robbery where he protected me valiantly and I need his genetics to fill a gap in my breeding program, then I will breed her at even 9 if she is healthy and had no problem before . Or if she produces exceptional pups and considering that there are too many crappy dogs and I strongly believe that more dogs from her are going to enrich genetic pool then, again, I will breed her into late age that is if she is healthy and her last litter had no complication . I would try to sell such pups to breeding homes. However if she produces pups which are of quality and genetics which I can get from other females or if she produces average or worse pups then I will not breed her again sometimes even if she is 4.
