"It's all about what works for your dog. What's good for one is bad for another."  GSDtravels quote is so true!

But I will give you my 2 cents worth!  I have been feeding TOW for around 2-3 years now with great results.  When my 3 and 1/2 year old was under a year old though, I had her on the Bison/Venison flavor when she developed pano.  Was it from the food?  Too much protein?  Who knows, but I did switch her over to the Fish flavored TOW and she improved.  Was it from the switch?  Who knows!!!  But it made me feel much better and she also did great on the fish.  They are both on the Bison/venison now with a spoon full of the canned also,  and doing great.   I love the food.

I feed Blue buffalo and they have a formula called Wilderness and on that link i sen earlier it advised not to feed wilderness to a pup advised to wait until at least 18 mos. I want to switch my picky eater. I feed raw chicken at nite and kibble in the morning some times she eats it sometimes she doesnt. Energy and coat fine  so I dont panick much. But I would love to get more weight on her and was going to switch until I read that link that was provided to me. Gave me the tools to make an informed decision as oppossed to taking so many different opionions.

FYI kibble and Raw have different digestion times.......

I get my raw for less then most "quality kibbles" per pound.

Pretty sure the different rates is the reason Gemini feeds raw at night and kibble in the morning.

The only thing with TOTW though, compared to other "quality" brands, is that the calories per cup is pretty low, and end up going through the bag quickly.  It looks cheap but overall may be on par considering bang for the buck.  Opposite case with Evo(red meat). It's about double the price, but calorie per cup is very high, so you go through the bag much much slower.

I recently switched form TOTW to Acana.  My dogs and I are very happy with the switch.   They had done okay on TOTW for quite a while but the last couple months had gotten gassy........  NOT something I want in a house dog.  And also made me wonder what had changed to cause it....

Jenn,  I am pretty sure that something that takes 8 hours to go through vs up to 24 is a great way to go.    It must feel great on your little tummy when the 8 hours stuff comes up on the 24 hours stuff and passes it up.

I know there are some that do, but I never reccomended that as it can cause a bactira build up.

Just something to think about if someone was feeding you that way, how would your tummy like it.

could this be true?

TOTW & Evo was just bought by procter & gamble?

will there be changes in the food now as we see in other foods as they are bought out as well?

Proctor & Gamble have not bought Taste of the Wild however they did purchase Natura Pet Products which includes Evo, Innova, California Natural. I think bad news for these lines. Remember when P&G bought Iams and Eukanuba a few years ago. Where are those brands today ? Mass marketed and sold in supermarkets, formulas changed,  made with ingredients quite different from what the brand made its reputation on. I have been feeding TOTW Salmon to our 4 month old GSD Dux. Wanted grain free and preferred to give our puppy  the 25% protein in TOTW Salmon. Dux likes it, stools have been good, and his coat looks beautiful.I do mix a tablespoon of organic yogurt in each meal.
