Actually from what I,ve heard It was suggested to Mr Landau that he not run again. So he decided not to run for a second term.
Great now the WMD,s are going to show up in Germany!

I fully agree with what Bob-O has stated. He has been around a long time and sen just about every trend in GSDs. And he knows what he is stating. Anyone who honestly considers the FCI standard and compares it to what the typical AKC/GSDCA non-SV American Shepherd "champion" is and what the typical SV KK1, Sch. V rated German Shepherd is can only conclude that the typical SV German Shepherd V dog is quite close and a much better temperamented dog with more correct proportions than the typical AKC/GSDCA non-SV type "champion".
Yes, the German V dogs tend to more correct proportions with shorter, but unfortunately roachy backs that often cause the dogs to rump-roll, hitch and kick up when moving loose lead, but they tend to have excellent color, temperament and sex type, whereas the American dogs tend to have overly long somewhat weak backs, lack of substance, pushed forward fronts, lack of prosturnum lower thighs too long, long but steep croups, poor feet, weak bone, snipey heads on the males, poor color and weak temperament. It is a much shorter trip to the FCI standard for the SV than for the AKC/GSDCA. American shepherds are not real german shepherd dogs IMO, but a hybrid variety due to highly intense linebreefing of distant imports, many of which had serious issues now magnified. How can this happen? Slow system drift due to kennel blindness and participation in a status system based on breeding and showing champions for sidegait on a tight lead run at high speed by professsinal handlers. Not much concern for anything else but winning like this.
There are always some exceptions, but overall these conclusions are justified. I went to a GSDCA national specialty show in Denver a couple of years ago and never say so many long, snipey males with pushed forward fronts, lack of pigment--very poor specimens--many moved well from the side on tight lead. When some went somewhat loose lead many fell apart.
There is a lot of faulty movement in the german SV dogs at the sieger shows lately which shows plainly when off lead, much worse than twenty years ago. However the SV dogs look like real GSDs, and in general the temperaments are much better and the sex type, color, coats is far better.
