The males hips are a definitive good. Take this from someone who does take and read x-rays all day long. The left hip needs to be rolled in slightly more and the pelvis straightened slightly, but from someone who knows, the right hip is good to excellent and the left a solid good. If your vet does redo them, tell him to not pull on the hips, but roll them in. The left hip might be slightly less tight because it would be his right hand positioning the left hip and he is probably right handed, with the right hand being his stronger hand/arm, it is easier for him to pull slightly too hard and make that hip appear slightly looser than it should.
The positioning on your female can't get much better with the severity of her hip dysplasia. The right hip is mildly to moderately dysplastic, the left hip is severely dysplastic. Every arthritis change is demonstrated in these hips with sclerosis, acetabulum rim changes along with shallow acetabulums, femoral head and neck changes, subluxation, bone spurs. The femoral neck on the left hip has completely filled in. These changes are associated with advanced moderate to severe hip dysplasia. No positioning is going to change this. She would greatly benefit from a joint support product. Possibly even an orthopedic surgery.
Congrats on your boy. Sorry about your girl.

male looks pretty good; female is definitely dysplastic pretty severe on left side not very good at all on right side; although I have seen worse on dogs that have done fine?? Go figure; I would swim her and only light exercise under control with cartlidge supplement in her diet; preferrably in the form of chicken feet or wings or both; I recommend you keep her lean, very lean. Best of luck for both Nan
