Now it's the dog's fault and the fault of the people who tried to rescue the dogs from Janice's hell hole.

"Because her operation apparently failed, just like mine did."

Hodie could no longer afford to do what she did, and stopped of her own accord.  That is far different from the state coming in, forcibly removing dogs from someone's care and then bringing charges that eventually obtain a conviction.

Puppy mill - 64 German Shepherds seized Gardena, CA (US) Incident Date: Wednesday, Mar 3, 1999 County: Los Angeles Disposition: Convicted Defendants/Suspects: » Gregory Bartmess » Janice Bartmess Case Updates: 1 update(s) available Gregory and Janice Bartmess owners of South Bay Pet Inn, 18116 La Salle Avenue were booked Saturday at Gardena jail on suspicion of cruelty to animals. They were later released on their own recognizance. Veterinarians in Carson are working to save 64 German shepherds that were living in squalid conditions at the Gardena kennel. Most of the animals were kept in tiny crates that were filled with excrement. An officer was called to the kennel because of loud and continuous barking coming from the South Bay Pet Inn. Many of the dogs were living in carriers that were just 2 x 3 feet wide. "They couldn't move around for exercise. Three was no food or water in most of the cages. Inside the living room of the house was a female German shepherd with five little puppies in one of those carriers." Janice Bartmess denies the allegations that were made on Thursday. She thinks the problems of the kennel are being exaggerated. "I say it's exaggerated and there's a lot of lying going on. I'm not saying everything was perfect. I think the situation between my side and what they are saying is absolutely bipolar ...." An emaciated German shepherd was found in the front yard, the dog was in a small dog carrier. The animal was so ill that veterinarians had to euthanize it. They then found dogs in the backyard and in the garage living in horrible, filthy conditions. "The ground was covered with feces over a foot high in some places." Carson shelter manager said the problem with most of the dogs was, they were very hungry. "Right now they are doing pretty good. We've been feeding them regularly and checking them regularly. They are in a lot better shape than they were in Saturday." Bartmess said she bought the kennel 4-1/2 years ago to breed dogs for sale. The business has not done well and costs her approximately $10,000 a year. The more dogs, the more problems they were having trying to take care of them. "This is kind of like a dream that turned into a nightmare. We've never made a living off the dogs, I don't know who could." The dogs will be kept at the shelter until the case has an outcome. Bartmess said she doesn't know if she wants the dogs back. Bartmess also had criticism for the animal control department which never offered her any help.

" Yes, she was a zombie, on all things but fence running. She was TOO good at that! Show lines, go figure."

Now it's the dog's fault that you abused her?  Bartmess, only YOU are unable to see how far gone you are. You disgusting piece of garbage. You probably think it's kids' fault that perverts molest them, too. Get rid of those pesky children and you get rid of the kiddy porn problem, right, Bat Shit Janice? Blame a dog that is one of countless dozens stockpiled in a filthy tiny dirt back yard for FENCE RUNNING? WTF?

by VomMarischal on 05 September 2010 - 18:09

Crap. She is writing a freaking epistle. I HATE when she takes this long to respond. She will be writing a three page response blaming AR, PDB, SP, Hodie, the State of CA, GSDs, and anybody else she can think of. OMG you moron, is it so impossible to say
I, Janice Bartmess, fucked up, and promise never to do it again.

I had to break up a three dog fight once with a two by four, about eight feet long. Those dogs were really mixing it up! Every time a dog would get on top of the others, KA-POWWW, I'd let him have it over the top of his skull. He'd be weak in the knees, and another dog would take the opportunity to jump on top, then KA-POWWW, he'd get it. Finally the third dog would be on top, and he'd get Ka-Bonged, too! We did two complete rounds like this. Every dog got it on top of the head two times, and then, as if someone had flipped a light switch, they all broke off and ran for opposite corners of the yard, and wouldn't come near each other, all day! I was deathly afraid my mom was going to try to reach in there to grab a collar, and she'd gotten bitten a few times doing this, but that was with two dog fights.. This was three dogs, and a three dog fight can be very dangerous.. fatal or really disfiguring, because whichever dog goes down first usually gets trashed! I just did what I could, with what I had, but it really worked! And, screw the dogs, if it came right down to it. I didn't want my mom being maimed and disfigured. Lumber, hard upside the head, will do the trick, but definitely a last resort. It's not training.. It's crisis control!

Schaferhunden,
I bet Bat Shit feels pretty free now that SP's posts attacking her have been nuked. I bet she thinks we don't actually have COPIES of a lot of it. But we do. So we CAN and WILL reproduce any and all of it if Janice doesn't dry up and go away. I have it too. Several of us do. We kept it just in case, and what do you know? It turns out we need it after all. SP didn't fight that jackass for nothing. Her supporters didn't completely luck out.
