Some things to consider are which direction it will face and drainage. Wind and sun can be brutal, and a poorly drained area will be a disaster. Heavily treed areas are great for shade, but they also bring in insects. Deer flies love spruce trees and mosquitos love treed areas as well.

--------__________________ | | | | | | | | | | | | | ---------------------- | | | | | | | | | | | | | ---------------------- | | | | | | | | | | | | ________------------------ Don't know it that came out, but this is an overhead look of my kennel with three 6 x 4 indoor and 6 x 18 outdoor runs. There is a 4' walkway with a little storage inside. Along the back of the kennel, where the walkay is, there are (3) 6x4' widows on the north side to let in light but not direct. The outdoor runs are covered with a roof and I bought landscape tarps for the sides of the kennels. They cut wind in the winter and sun in the summer and the dogs can still see through them. I didn't worry about concrete on the outdoor runs. My dogs don't live in them 24/7. With a sealant, it is clean, but you want a light brushed finish. You don't ant them to slip and too rough of a brush finish is rough on the paws.

i built my kennels 5X12 with paver floors with a hardner in the joints.the floor is sloped so as to flush out the rear into a split 8" pvc pipe slightly sloped towards kennel.the pipe runs to a regular septic tank.a 35 gallon barrel is at the up slope side and when the kennels are cleaned(and they are cleaned daily)A PLUG IS PULLED FLUSHING IT ON INTO TANK.as for regulations check with your county.

The threads aren't that old Moons.   Just last month.  Why not bump something with information somebody finds helpful?  And dog related.
