Jyl I was told by Tractor Supply that it was a food that Tractor Supply came up with.....I don't remember exactly how they did that, but they did say it was their food......and never did they say it was from Purina.

Paul,  I doubt that, and I'd say it probably will be around for a while.   I talked to the guy at Tractor Supply here, apparently it sells a lot.  I'm going to try it with a couple of my dogs and we'll see how it works for them.

It is Tractor and Supply's privately labeled brand. I know many that have switched to it besides myself and like it. Feed less than before. It's made by DPF in Missouri per the bag. That is Diamond Pet Foods. It is better than Diamond Natural. DPF also makes Kirkland's and  TOTW.

My 6 shepherds and puppies eat it has same ingredients as TOTW. and TOTW salmon has fish meal  which is sprayed with chemicals so the fish does not rot. The FDA has banned the chemical from human consumption.

I read this page before talking to the dogfood guy at my Tractor Supply. Is this the same food? If they keep it in stock, then I will change in a few months. Just changed all my dogs to another food. But he did say it came wrapped and notes for store were from Purina. Price is good and so are ingredients. If it stays in supply in the store then I will change over in a few months.

Paul15, your guy needs to read what's on the bag itself. It's not Purina, it's DPF. When you go in TSC, you can read that yourself. That means Diamond made it

by Paul15 on 25 August 2010 - 01:08

Dhould have assummed Diamond makes it. They make sooo many dogfoods under other names.

Paul15. The link that you posted above is not the same food that we are talking about. Here is the link to the 4Health dog food from Tractor Supply....

I think that this is a decent food for the price. I have been feeding a food that is very similar to the 4Health. So I will see how the dogs do on the 4Health.

I just went and got a few bags along with some more TOTW to help with the transition.  I'll post how they do on it about a month from now.......if I like the results I'll keep using it.  I got one bag of Lamb and Rice and one of Chicken

So, Kirkland is my choice..with not that much difference in ingred. but a lot of savings in a long run...

Kirkland is a good food. I use to feed the chicken and rice formula. I had mixed results with it. I have heard from people that feed the lamb and rice that their dogs seem to do very well on it. I read the ingredience above and did not know that the Kirkland dog food had menadione sodium bisulfite (source of vitamin k activity). The ingredient list that I have for the lamb and rice does not have the menadione in it. I guess the next time I am at Costco I will look and see. Maybe the ingredience list has changed.

As for the 4Health. I think it is a good food, as far as ingredience go. It is a new food so it will be interested to see how everyones dogs do on it.
