What a bastard of a man!!!!! I would not be surprised if he has given that poor child and his best friend a hell of a life,I also feel the poor little chap has lost his protector. How can any decent human being treat a child and a dog like this,I wish to god that bastard gets whats coming to him in some way or another, the horrible git, When I think of the bond between my Grandson and my dogs,it makes my blood boil.

That man is breathing a good mans air

This should be given to the news outlets!!!!  This man deserves to be shamed for waht he did in a public way.  And that poor kid, too, deserves better parents and for someone else to tell him that was not right what dad did

Ok, this soo made me cry. What a fucked up world we live in.

good idea Feather - someone in that area should call the news stations and see if they want a public interest story.  Might find a home for the dog that way, and might get some help or at least awareness for the boy.

That is horrendous.

How bloody cruel.  What grade are you in at 7years old, 1 maybe 2.

Heartbreaking.

I have met some real winner dinner dads but this one takes the cake.

Hi everyone we are going on about the bastared father but where is the young boys mum is she living thair with them if she is why did she let this happen to her son and his dog is the mom to frightend to stand up for her son if thair  is no mum  then this is more serious than we thought as this kid could be getting more abused also if mum is thair she could also be getting abused this is serious the news station should be told of this story and he should be reported for child abuse

That is utterly horrifying. That little boy had that dog literally his whole life. I bet "Father" (I won't honor him with "Dad") wanted to get rid of the dog and figured his son's grades were as good an excuse as any.

It is, in my opinion, emotional abuse and he should be reported. Who knows what else he has said or done to that child. It's a heartwrenching story, so I'm sure the dog will be taken in and loved, but who will watch out for this child?

edit: dropped the link and my thoughts on it to a few Orange County news outlets. Maybe if a few others do the same, someone will take a look?

Shaking my head after reading that.  Horrible, horrible story.  What kind of a man could take a dog to a shelter he knows will kill the dog, all because his young son isn't doing well in school?

There could be many reasons for the kid's poor performance in school.  Anything from a minor learning disability, to simply not having his parents making sure he's doing his work.  No dog deserves to be dumped that way.

I won't judge the man, but his actions are wrong.  I hope this old girl finds a good home, and I hope that man gets what he deserves.

Shostring
I share your thoughts on the mum,I have always been puzzled as to why a mum could allow anyone to upset their child,I also think there is more to this than we know,I hate it when we have something like this on the board and you feel helpless.I just Hope that someone has the courage to do something to sort this evil bastard,if he came up against a man I bet he would be a gutless git and run,the shitbag!!!
