The "pink stripe" is probably a snow nose. It will go away when the weather gets warmer.

Knightenhaus, Interesting question.....and even more interesting answers. Firstly , a dog with linebreeding back that many generations is unlikely to have any observable traits from the dog in question (in this case,Uran);anything outside of 5 generations is not considered linebreding anymore. Truly , even w/in 5 generations the influence of ONE dog is very well diluted! It is true that there have been concerns with pigment, but this should come as no surprise given how much this dog was used at stud. Keep in mind that it takes 2 to tango and consider both sides of the pedigree. On a related note....why is it that time and time again ,breeders are presented with a dog who produces well and everyone (figuratively speaking, that is ) runs to this "superstar" to breed to without looking at other qualities - GOOD and BAD and years down the road we all talk about what problems the dog was "known for" often with little or no proof . And then , the next "superstar" is on the horizon , and people repeat the same pattern only to trash the dog later when the realization that he was'nt perfect hits home. Genetic diversity is not realized by perpetuating the same bloodline over and over and over again without looking for alternatives. A perfect example is the latest superstar of the last several years , Ursus v. Batu......very widely used stud dog and for good reason ...but everything at the top in the showring thes days is saturated with Ursus...look at the results of the last 2 or 3 BSZS results in all classes for confirmation of this. When are we going to start hearing the "horror" stories of how much damage he has "singlehandedly" inflicted on the breed , I wonder! People make the choice to breed animals knowing that there is alot more that is unpredictable with regard to genetics than that which is predictable...therefore it is in the breeder's best interest as well as the breed's best interest to diversify and not put so much emphasis on ONE DOG!!! By the way,I happen to love these 2 particular dogs and all of the good things that they produced...I'm just suggesting that sometimes "less is more" just something to think about....sorry if I got a little off topic! CHEERS!!
