Scarlet Akai

The photo is indeed altered, the difference in foliage in the background and different colors of the grass say that. but im not sure it has much to do with the angulation of the dog.  Even if it is two different dogs in one photo ithe back angle does look to be all from from one dog.

Ever hear of the expression "stacking the deck"?

You see a lot more of the corectness of fore and hind angulation when the dog is standing four-square.

"Maybe it was a bad stack, but still, the structure of show line dogs today are horrible."

And the structure of the working lines is good?  As I've said in the past, I like both for different reasons but am not delusional about the strengths or weaknesses of either based on a misguided 'my dog is better because he's my dog' mentality.

Keith,  I agree and disagree about working lines.  A lot of the Czech lines I see especially from certain "reputable" Czech breeders, have severe slants or angulation in their dogs.....they look crippled.  Even my boy has somewhat of a arch, and I don't even like that.   Not to say that there are a lot of good structured workingline dogs anymore either.....but I rarely ever see show lines that are.

Why on earth would you want the consensus of the board? A small scattering of knowledgeable people overwhelmed by pet owners who think they're breed experts and armchair quarterbacks, and grossly biased big talkers. If I wanted a viable opinion in a dog's structure, I'd email a few excellent breeders I know and actually get an informed opinion.

The topic line alone says it all, you're fishing for a slew of "omg showline dogs are disgusting" commentary.

Anyone with a half a brain and even meager experience would never judge a dog's structurally or mentally based on a still photo.

Wow kc

I actually already have a pretty concrete Perception of the correct structure a Gsd.  I didnt start this thread for others to help me out with that. I started this thread to find a couple of people who actually like this kind of structure and pick their brain on a couple of things, not to start any drama there is already plenty of that on this site.  No one said anything about how this dog performs it's mentality or else wise. I only asked about the slant No need to be defensive.

This website is one of the few places if not the only one where I can easily access multiple GSD people from around the globe. There is nothing wrong with being curious about the thoughts of the GSD public in general, because like it or not all of them play a part in this breed.

well, if you compare the picture with siblings and progeny of this dog, I would  be hesitant to blame photoshop on the horrible extreme angulation.

the background ect is photoshopped, but I bet that dog would look the same stacked in person

people judge dogs all the time by just a photo,  thats why the urma books have been soo successful, you ge a stacked photo, pedigree, and sometimes koer.

not everyone can go see every dog they like, so all we do have to go on are photo's.  if you don't like the comments made abut a dog picturd like this, then by al means stop with the extree stacking, if that truely is the problem.

OK, I have a showline and like many showlines but if my showline dog looked like that I would NOT be posting his pictures!  yeeek

I will say that it is not one of the better stacks I have seen...not to mention the horrible photo shop too.

I have a showline male and 2 Czech females. I will say that the showline dogs of today are much different than what I call the "old style".  One like Uran and Laso di val sol....to name a couple.

I love my showline male to pieces. I have been complemented on him by alot of workingline people. They are amazed that he is a showline..
