There are many good quality dog foods oput there. Your decision should be based on your dog's activity level. You don't want to feed 30% protein to a dog that sits in a shipping crate all day (not saying that is what you do, just an example) or 12% to a dog that runs the Iditarod. Fat should be above 12% for a relatively active dog. Hope that helps.

I am leaning more towards the TOTW right now. I may give the Pacific Stream formula a try

I emailed TOTW and this is what they said to me...
"Most of the ethoxyquin is destroyed in the cooking process, requiring other
preservatives to be used. Tests for ethoxyquin are run routinely on Taste of
the Wild. The results are typically less than 5ppm. This is equivalent to
0.0005% or 5 ten-thousandth’s of a percent. This is a true trace level that
many laboratories are unable to detect. The amount allowed, and considered
to be safe, by the FDA is 75ppm."
I also emailed Solid Gold about this and this is what was said...
"We do not add Ethoxyquin to our diets. Our manufacturing mill has informed us that they are unable to source Ethoxyquin-free fish meal and that all fish meal is required, by the US Coast Guard, to be preserved with Ethoxyquin. This said Ethoxyquin has a short life, when products containing Ethoxyquin are received at the manufacturing mill; they are tested to determine the amount of Ethoxyquin remaining in the product. In rare instances small amounts of Ethoxyquin may be reported in the “raw” ingredient but is oxidized (used up) during the cooking process. We also, through an independent lab, randomly test finished product for Ethoxyquin levels and other values such as nutrients, bacterias and toxins."
From what I was told there is no way for them to get Ethoxyquin free fish since that is what the Coast Guard requires and uses at the port before the fish is brought in.

About 4 - 5 times a week he gets TOTW Wetlands formula. 2 cups kibble with 1 cup water left to soak for a while.
The wetlands formula has no vegetable oils in it. Pharaoh likes it.
