I have to agree with the ones who have said that euthansia is the best option for the poor dog and you.

WOW............................... another victuim and you spent 400.00 for a non papered dog at a parking lot at wal-mart.........FAIL FAIL FAIL............ read up on GSD's and also how to break a fear driven dog.....its a good thing you can learn from this.. Also stop living in the past with the dog. never feel sorry for the dog and attempt to get the dog past its issue with its fear aggression with males... also be calm assertive and work slowly with the dog and gain its trust and remember ..... excersice, disapline and then effection.....

If you live in the past with your dog the dog will not move past its issue

No, you will never see papers because they never existed.

That poor girl, look into her eyes in both your Avatar the picture you posted, that's a dog in serious misery.

I'm thinking along the lines of GSDTravels, that the obvious abuse she suffered at some man's hand has left her with a traumatic brain injury that is causing the seizures and night terrors but again only a full vet work up would tell you for certain.

You have three choices:

Put more money into her in terms of vet fees for tests to determine the cause of the seizures.  The pro if it's something that can be controled through medicine, it might go a long way to helping stabalize her.  The con ... $$$$$$$$$$$

Put more money into trying to rehabilitate her.  The pro ... salve to your conscience?  The con, you'll be flying blind without a vet work up first and foremost.  Also you'll need to find a female trainer and again $$$$$$$$$$$ and in the end, it might do no good.

Finally, as has been suggested, love her up on a good day and then let her go in as much peace as she can find.  If you want to rescue a GSD you can work with a local rescue organization in your area and find yourself a stable dog who needs a whom and who won't cause you to sleep with one eye open for the rest of his/her life.

I'm sorry, Misty...I am so sorry.

I wonder if the pictures you were shown were pictures stolen off the internet or something...The behavior issues might be something you can work through, but the seizures...That's hard.

As FHtracker said above, you don't have many options here.  You can choose to let her go in peace, or you can spend some (possibly a lot) of money getting her tested by a vet for neurological conditions, and by a trainer for what's ailing her mentally.

She does not look like a happy, or healthy girl, and I empathize with you on this...I would hate to be faced with a choice of letting my girl suffer or letting her go...On the one hand it relieves her suffering, but on the other, it increases yours.

Good luck to you, whatever choice you may choose to make.  And if, in the future, you are ready to love again, but you don't think you want to spend the kind of outrageous money that some breeders want to charge for puppies that may not be any more healthy than the pup you got from a van at Walmart, please check with a rescue organization.  There are many GSD rescues around the country, and they always have some really incredible, really wonderful dogs looking for new homes.

In the meantime, I believe that I would cease to sleep with your girl on the bed, before someone gets hurt.  Sounds cold, I know, but you've already been injured.  Invest in a crate, until you decide what to do, how best to help her.

If you opt to try and save her, go for the medical assessment first and foremost...Once medical issues are ruled out, then worry about training.

Thank y'all for the advice. I can't bear to put her to sleep. I am gonna watch some youtube training videos and work with her on my day off. I will make her sleep on the guest bed but I do not want to put her in a cage. I would take her to the vet but when she sees other animals she whines and pees and snaps crazily, specially large dogs. I have only had her a few months (well 6) so maybe she isnt used to me yet. I worked on her eating this morning. She dosnt lock onto the broom when I poke her food anymore, now she just snaps it real fast with a growl. I would say that is progress. I apologise as I am no expert but she is not in pain, just very camera shy. Y'all are right I will never see those papers and I need to face it. I had one more question...Is it normal for her to have a large patch of white fur in her back hind leg? I dont see that coloring on any of your germies... Thanks again ~ Misty

Is spray paint healthy to put on a dog?

Moons...knock it off.  Misty needs help not smartass comments.  Jeez.  You can pick on me but not newbies.

Bad Moons.  No Cookie.

Debi,

I don't know that Misty really wants help.  If she wants to live with a dog that for the past 6 months she's had to feed with a broom, that's her call.

Personally I like being able to feel safe in my own house.
