Yeah I give my guy green tripe as well! Really Smelly! But where can I find hearts?

I've found chicken hearts, gizzards and liver at Kroger and Harris Teeter. Also, just found a really great asian market that has an awesome variety of meat but no green tripe :(  Lamb kidneys, pork tongue, pork blood (????), duck wings, whole rabbits, quail, live fish...all for cheaper than a grocery store. I'm feeling lucky! For organ meat I'm just picking up a variety of different parts.

My collie had a little mess in her crate the other day but I think I gave her too much fat....I just knew that feeding duck so soon was a bad idea but...duck wings and necks! So, we're back to good ol' chicken and turkey parts. Jack (the gsd) has not had any problems AT ALL...interesting since he's the one who tends to get diarrhea from changing foods and I switched them cold turkey (<--hehe).

Edit: And goat! They have goat! For some reason I'm really excited about the goat meat.

Tripe,  Yup, nasty stinky stuff... the dogs love it.  I have managed to get access to a few whole very very very fresh tripe from goats and cows.  Takes me quite a while to clean and package for the freezer but the dogs do love it.

For those feeding fish.  Do check country of origin for the fish..........  Think of what some countries use for fish food in farm raised................

You can get beef heart by the case (I think it's like 25-30 lbs) in meat distributorships. It's usually four of them, which I defrost, cut up and re-wrap, and refreeze. You don't need much of it, but it has SOMETHING they really need...is it tyrosine? I forget.

For some reason the ones I buy say "Boneless Beef Heart" on the boxes. Beef hearts have BONES? Weird. The meat guy has no explanation for it.

I found beef heart along with other pig stuff (feet, neck) at an ethnic hispanic market,  really a nice little market and they have it all.  I don't think they have green tripe though, still am looking for that.  Bought some frozen fish (from China) but it was wild caught.  Hope that is OK.  Never know, we have eaten it though also and seemed OK to me.  Made it with crusted pistashio nuts.  Really good.  Gave it to dogs last night and of course, they loved it.  (Plain though, no pistashio's).

Mollyand Jack:  For the first month I did not give my guys too much variety;  mostly chicken, a small amount of liver, beef and heart;  but small amounts of any other type meats other than chicken.  I think it takes time for their systems to make the change to raw.  Now they seem to be able to handle most anything but I still use chicken as the base of their diet adding some variety;  fish, beef, liver, heart  even some canned Salmon.  Eggs, yogart/cottage cheese also.  Pork farmer style ribs(meaty parts) and pork necks.  All OK so far.  But chicken being the base of the diet and adding smaller amounts of anything else to start is my point.

Sounds like your guys are doing great;  my one  pain in the a-- male has brought up a few bones etc. but even he for the most part has done pretty good.

I have a place just over the border and I ordered ostrich necks, beef tounge, but they won't eat them so if anybody lives near the WI. IL. border near lake michigan I have some food you can have. I haven't tried the kidneys or ox tail yet but I did but some cat fish filets and they won't eat those either even if I sear them first. They will eat certain things but I really thought they would eat more than they are.
