They freeze, they become paralyzed and then they die if it doesn't warm up. While they are stiff, they are brewing deadly bacteria.

Lief:
Sounds like clostridium Perfringens TYPE D is the one my friends dog had.. ..two kinds and what is the sign is blood in stools , diahrea and the dog cannot fight it...comes from iguanas feces, or any eaten type of feces found , water infected with feces of the bacteria.
dead peaches or fruit laying under trees, found under rocks in flower beds, on wood in the woods by your home, etc...food contaminated by soil or feces and lays where the bacteria allowing it to multiply. Wood piles left for years .
Cattle are known for having it also.....check it out..
Had a friend here in McKinney , that had his 4 yr old was dead in 10 hrs after they found it...rushed to vet and no stopping it.

Those iguanas are poisonous to dogs...there was a lot of talk about it a month or so ago. Do an iguana search on the messageboard.
Out here it's mushrooms. :(

Thanks for all the replies you guys i will look this stuff up, I just talked to them again they already had him cremated so I guess there is no way to know for sure.. I'm just hoping this Vet didn;t waste time treating its ''cancer'' or ''autoimmune disease'' and cost this poor dog its life. He was one of the most talented ones according to the movie dog trainers that worked with them for the two weeks before the shoot

Salmonela is also a common bacteria gotten off of Iguanas people keep in fish tanks. Relative of mine, who had a fatal blood disease from working in plants all his life in Galveston, was told by his Dr. to get rid of his iguanas...because handling them as he had to do, even showering with them , was putting him at risk for Salmonela.
