I would much rather see a multi strand electric fence containing a dog then one of those invisable fences.  At least a real one makes it more difficult for a dog to get through, and for others to come into the dogs own space.

My dogs have stock tanks to splash in, those can and do turn green (and brown) in a day which results in frequent cleaning.

Awww Animules don't you know how this game is played?

You see, the OP post a picture and asks an "innocent question". Then other people say lots of shitty stuff. Now here's the tricky bit. If you call the OP on their bullshit they muster every bit of childhood innocents and coo, ever so softly, a sickeningly saccharine sweet "But....but ......I'm only asking a question." When the repliers are called on their bullshit they always clutch their pearls, throw their heads back dramatically and exclaim "Oh my....I WAS ONLY TRYING TO ANSWER THE QUESTION " catch the vapors (smelling own bullshit?) and faint.

Now that you know how this game is played go out and have some fun with it. Ask a "question" about an enemy breeder's latest litter. Answer "questions" about that handler that you hate. The sky is the limit! And best of all, you don't have to know a damn thing about what you're talking about or have any pesky evidence or facts. Just say it anyway! It's the internet and nobody knows who you are.

Have fun!

Christopher,  I know very well how the game is played!  I fully expected to have multiple shots taken at me by now.  You did a fine job of explaining the game to others though.  Let the games continue!

Or not......

BTW, glad to see you are still around.

Kimmelot,
A dog can and will go beyond an invisible fence, but no dog will go through a stock fence.
Especially if you run a grounded wire next to the hot wires.
This is like a bolt of lightening compared to any collar device.
It can be fatal by the way.

It's not so wild if you've ever seen one used on the farm.

Moons.

Sorry Mr. Christopher Smith, but anyone with a computer can find out who I am .. no big secret.

I seen this add this morning and thought , what the hell are they thinking ?? I have never in my life seen some one keep a dog inside of an electric fence. BTW I live in the country and was considering buying electric fencing for my 700 lb Jersey bull .. however after he mastered the "jump" of a 4 foot non-climb fence we reconsidered what he would do to get out.. and only panels or welded poll fencing will do.     I thought it was interesting to keep a dog that way and felt like sharing, but OK you don't want to hear about it that's fine .. I will go away.

Kimmelot,
Some animals will plow through, my Mouflon would.
The ground next to the hot wire is key for hoofed animals especially in dry climates.
And then they need to experience the shock, call it training.
Still tho my sheep were a wild breed and if spooked they would take to flight and nothing less than six foot tall heavy metal fence would hold them.
I've seen a bull go through a very strong fence with a hot wire and two strands of barbed wire on top, being chased by my horse....lol

I wasn't going to stand in his way,
Moons.
