By the way, we had a 4.4 magnitude earthquake today in Pico Rivera. Not far from here. At about 4 AM, too. So, I think my dog was feeling something. This was only 5 days ago.

There seems to be a lot of seismic activity going on around the globe.Look at all the places it has hit so far...and look at last year as well where they hit.

also I have noticed more shark attacks reported when there has been earthquakes.I am sure they feel it since they sence magnetic changes.

They say 2 weeks before an earthquke if you follow the lost pets, you will see the numbers go way up.

I wonder, with all these earthquakes, if the earth's poles are getting ready to flip. They know from the geologic record in the earth's crust, in the Marianna trench, that this happens once in a long while. The polarity of the earth actually flips, or swaps ends. I don't know what effect this would have on climate and other things.

The whole earth is like a magnetic dynamo.. Not sure if I'm using the right expression for it. It's the same phenomenon that causes a spinning electrical generator with an iron core to create a polarized electrical field. The truth of the matter is, that if we could somehow harness the vast energy stored in the earth by controlling the potential between the earth and it's upper atmosphere, that we would have access to unimaginable amounts of electrical power. I suspect that it's too much to control, and that this is what the "HARP" project is really all about. A lot of people who have managed super tall and large antenna arrays can tell you that they can pick up and store tens of thousands of volts of electricity. The amperage may not be there, but the voltage is.

I know for a fact that dogs can feel electrical fields. I used to have a dog that would not stay in a crate. When she was ready to come out, she'd punch the gate and pop it open. I used a product called a "Fido Shock" and placed a grid of hardware cloth on the floor of the crate, which I set as the ground. Then the hot side went to the gate. The idea was to teach her not to mess with the gate. But, it didn't work.. She could tell when the thing was wired up, and when it wasn't. I actually watched her carefully approach the gate with her muzzle, a cunning look on her face. She then backed off. So, I could never teach her not to mess with the gate. She could tell when the device was turned on. If it wasn't, she punched the gate and came out when she was ready.

I think you should rename your crazy bitch, "Tesla"!

LOL.. I do have alternate names for her. She's also called "Evil Dog" and "Demented Dog". Other less mentionable names, occasionally... Poor thing.. She's really a funny dog. She can be very kewl when she's at her best. She just lacks good nerves. But, like you said, maybe she's really watching my back..

When I get mad at her and put her in her crate, she looks at me, like, "Why don't you love me? I'm your puppy, right"?

Yeah, how'd you do with this one, pretty big, huh? You're girlie was trying to tell you something...my bitch's mother, who just passed away on Friday, used to alert to thunderstorms long before they were evident. Once her people figured out why she was barking, it became pretty handy! Ej always knew when not to hang clothes on the line, & when to take them in, if they were out!

We were watching some History channel videos on 'How the Earth was Made"...pretty interesting, & with all the seismic activity around the Pacific rim lately, I think something bigger is in the works.....?!?! My grandson keeps running around his house saying, "2012! 2012!" Hope not! jackie harris

Hope all is well with you and if you still have the crazy girl and she didn't escape, I think you owe her a big fat steak!  She's been trying to let you know shit was getting ready to happen and you would punish her.  Poor baby.  We all need to pay closer attention to our dogs more often.  If we learn to read them, who knows what they will tell us.  She may not be what you want her to be but it sounds to me like she has huge potential elsewhere.  I hope you have the patience to work with her or find someone who can appreciate her for what she is...an earthquake Gertie.  I know what a pain in the butt she has been but now, when you go back on it, you know what was happening.  Touch base with us so we know all is well!

Well, she was onto something, wasn't she? Look at all the earthquakes we are having, now!!! Wow!!!
I've had to keep her crated much of the time, inside. Especially when I go out shopping.. Otherwise, she may not be here when I get back!!!
Today I'm going to switch her to a run that I know she cannot escape. She'll be in with an older male and another bitch who is not a trouble maker. Large cement run, with straw. I think she'll do well here and I'll be able to watch her behavior better. What really got my attention initially is that she reacts to lawn equipment, thunder and lightning, but there was NONE of this going on and she started to stress out, again. That was right before I made this thread. Look what's happened in the mean time!!
I heard that there is one major earthquake, over 7 on the Richter scale, every month, somewhere in the world. But, most are not near major cities and populated areas. This time it's different, it seems. But, a large number of major cities and population centers are on the coast and the coastal areas are not far from the undersea rifts where the tectonic plates are being pushed from.. So, right now everything seems to be happening on the Pacific Rim fault system.

Oh, I don't punish her.. It would do no good. She is what she is. She is a dear creature in her own way.. very funny and silly. She likes to play rough with me and bites me when I tease her. I can't do that with every dog. She's one of the more playful ones. When I want to rough-house and get nipped a little bit, she's always ready to accomodate me. She's a funny girl! She makes me laugh!
