Need opinions or comments on this breeder - Page 2

           No problem asking questions as this how we all learn, I just didn't want this to become a witch hunt as I have seen in the past happen here. You are always welcome to come out and visit with some of our dogs, by appointment only. Yes there are a lot of breeders out there that aren't as honest and makes it a bit tougher for the good ones. I would prefer to be honest with someone and tell them a certain pups isn't what they are looking for than to put one in a home and have it come back or worse a shelter

I think its reasonable to simply ask for other's experiences. But to pass along rumors you've "heard" is borderline slanderous and unfair to the breeder in question.  If someone said they heard " x and y" about me and those rumors were unfounded I would be pissed ... and I certainly wouldn't sell them a dog.

I recently did some research on these breeders, and had a conversation with them because I was helping someone find a companion GSD. I found no negative info about them. They were also completely honest in describing why a very nice female was being sold as a non-breeding pet--a high level of honesty that I almost never encounter. They were far more interested in finding a good home for the dog than making money off her. I think their honesty, in part, was to weed out the jerks that wouldn't appreciate and care for the dog properly. They were also very knowledgeable about GSD lines and behavior. I've recommended them to several people already and I will continue to recommend them.

Jim, the appropriate way to inquire about a kennel is to simply ask about it without passing on ugly rumors that may be completely unfounded. The fact that you suddenly showed up to pass on these rumors raises the possibility that you may not be a "possible buyer" at all but a competitor of these breeders who wants to damage them by slandering them in a widely read public forum.

My thoughts exactly, Susan! This stinks of vendetta.

No vendetta here on the breeder. I received enough PM's to make my decision and look else where. This is the first time I've ever been on any kind of forum, so I apologize for any ill feelings, just trying to make some sense with what I was told that's all Thank all of you for your responses

Awww, I guess I should have given you a special apology.

I did, in fact, learn a few things and they were all helpful. Among them: Some of your dogs are really great. Some are not. You are a nice guy and wouldn't intentionally screw someone. You're a BYB and I should run the other way. Your intentions are good but you are in over your head, both in knowledge and help. You're careless with your dogs because you've had two accidental litters with the same unregistered male. You play the "poor me" card way too much. No one addressed what I had heard about the "suspicious death." That is a good thing.

I guess you could call it a learning experience for both of us.

I have no intention of carrying this thread any further.

If you have just one doubt in your mind about any kennel and you must have done your homework before coming on here to say what faults the Kennel has  for you have voiced that Fact,
You do not have to look or ask any more than you have done, But unless what you say is 100% true then you do not need to bring the Kennels name down for that is what you will be doing and that is not right, If you now go to this Kennel and purchase a Dog after what you have said then you are a fool,
 For you do not say that you have been direct to this Kennel and asked questions which is the most logical and fair thing to do, You are going on  'Here Say ' i think you are trying to stir it up for this Kennel for some reason. I hate posts like yours they have double meanings

Steve, I agree with you on people who make assertions primarily on second hand knowledge....and then to spout this junk on a public forum is garbage! JMO

another "drive by" bashing.  somebody joins for a couple days with an agenda against a specific kennel or breeder or trainer.  Unfortunately we see it here too often.
