I am new to this site and not much of one to post on messageboards. But after the last couple of weeks reading the threads on this board I thought I might. If I was new to dogs be it, showing, breeding or working and looking to get information on the GSD. After reading the bashing and such that I have read, I don't believe that the GSD would be the breed for me. I guess what I am saying is that owners of the the GSD no matter what your venue, should be ambasadors to the breed.
I had a very wise man a long time ago, say to me. "Just remember and know this in your heart that when you leave the breed you know that you left it a little better". I am thankful I had a mentor that showed me sportsmanship, patience and understanding. So when your typing away try to remember others are reading and your words reflects the breed.
I'm just an outsider looking in and wonder how many newbies to this site and messageboard feel the same way. I'm not new to dogs nor the GSD and glad that the people I train and trial with are by no means anything but wonderful, and I think the world of them all.
Thanks,
Jodi

Thanks RLHAR.The one that is new is not as bonded to me to really listen or care about focusing on me.We are working on that. He is a block head. When he goes off at a dog walking by my place he has got better.I can just look at him and snap my fingers and he walks away from the door.We are still working with outside. It is hard to work on things like this with a controled enviroment with there isn't someone else to work with that has a clue about obedience. The other trainer I am friends with is not good with dealing with aggression....she is the one that called me about the dog I have now.I took it from the people that had him. What the hell was I thinking!!

Good night Moons
Thanks mobjack....the dogs aren't that bad. It is just annoying. It scares me the most at night when I can't see anything.I am pretty sure that they have the one tied up then.
I know that Zane would protect me if there was some wild animal thats for sure!! That isn't such a bad thing considering where I live.lol We have all sorts of critters here. Guess i will just have to deal with it for another month till my leace is up then I can get out of here!!!

She's doing very well, Bob...Gained a bit of weight, energetic as can be..does five miles of walking at a time and I swear she could do it several times.
I had to cut her toenails a week ago..she didn't really want to cooperate, but I got the job done, and praised her well for letting me do the job.
I have a couple of new pics I'll upload in the next day or so...we could use a nice cheerful thread>;-)
Thanks for asking.

My dogs outside runs are concrete so in the sprig, summer and fall they keep them nicley manicured. I do end up doing some trimming in the winter.
