This is an article about a Baby being killed by the family Husky.
http://www.ksfy.com/news/local/84866422.html
The above article will not turn into a media frenzy, due to the fact Huskies are not overbred and the favorite breed of every lowlife and irresponsible person out there.
What the public consider to be a Pit Bull, has been and is, being so overbred that the horrific incidents will just continue to escalate. The great majority of John Q. Public hear the name Pit Bull, and have the same reaction that Red Sable, has in this thread.
As humans, none of us can relate to anything we haven't experienced. Someone who doesn't have experience with Pit Bulls, or those who have just had a very limited negative experience, with a Pit Bull, cannot begin to understand the True breed and what has happened and is happening.
The fact is, with all the garbage so called Pits out there, if one actually searches out a really well bred APBT, it's almost impossibe to find.
Now if one is looking for some POS Blue dog, who is down from a mixture of Staff and God knows what, then it is as easy as checking Craigslist. The Blue POS in Florida that killed the 3yr old Baby, is one of these specials.
The APBT breed was already in a Blazing downward spiral, but in 1989 when Casey Couturier came out with his ABR Magazine, with all the American Bulldogs and his big Blue Staffs, the Plague really began to spread.
Back in the day, Heart and along with that, temperment, was what was sought after. Now, Color and Appearance is what's important. There isn't anyone out there who even understands what a bloodline is.
If they think they do, they would only recognize some crap like Gotti, Razors Edge, or some other Freak Sh..
If there would ever be a Study done, on which breed or so called breed of dog, has the most useless and irresponsible owners, the Pit Bull would would win by a MASSIVE margin.
Any peddler could take a Staff and breed it to a OFRN type Pit and get this.
http://www.apbt.online-pedigrees.com/modules.php?name=Public&file=printPedigree&dog_id=139203
then breed it to a Dog de Bordeaux, or something similar, and just like magic you have what's below..
Now a peddler can throw in some Blue, some Catahoula etc to get a Merle, or any number of ingredients. I'ts just like baking a cake. A Cake of Tragedy.

I have seen many that had \never been trained for fighting, but were dumped at the shelter because they were dog aggressive, or were very threatening to strangers. You walk by the kennel and they hit the wire, snarling and growling and barking fit to tear you apart. These dogs have not been socialized at all, which leads them to the shelter.
The biggest crime is breeding for the almighty dollar...Such as the horrific looking monster in the pic above...The prices for these pups is astounding, and they are dangerously unstable in too many cases. They aren't purebreds, they aren't loved, trained, or treated with any kind of respect...then tragedy strikes and the whole breed takes a dive. There is no reason to breed a muscle bound monster like that...unless you plan to fight him, or you plan to pull your car with him.
I never leave my kids alone with my Oakley or Misty, and I know neither dog would hurt them. Just the same, my dogs are not kids, my kids are not dogs, and it's just plain stupid to try and pretend that they are.
Sorry for the bully breeds and the price they have paid for being tough...I still say that no one should ever get a dog as a compensation for a lack in other departments...A dog doesn't make a person look tougher...And it's not fair to do that to a dog...any dog.

I remember hearing a song called "Here's Your Sign", seems appropriate for the parent of this poor child.
