Jenni do you not have puppies for sale?????  no breeder you can recommend?  why not recommend some ?  Two places you could start at lkn4gsd is the united schutzhund club of america web site! they have a section on breeders and breeding standards! the other is  German shepherd dog club of america /working dog associations web site1 I do believe they have a breeders section and standards section! just do a google search and I am sure you will find what you need! I know of a few breeders whom I would trust1 but I will not list them here!   The INFORMED BUYER cannot be cheated!

hi, to find a good gsd, if you aren't experienced with the market, buy local. Number one is to visit working dog clubs: ring sport, Schutzhund, DVG, SAR, even AKC trial events... easy to find with Google search engine. Meet the people, see the dogs, ask questions.

Check out local advertisers, meet them, see the dogs, ask questions. Do they train their dogs? Title them? Xray them? This is the best place to start. How can people really talk dog talk and yet, have never engaged with trying to accomplish tasks/titles with those dogs? Makes you wonder.

Price wise, local people can also guide you to what is being paid in your area. You will undoubtably find a few folks who have contacts out of state... maybe pursue those, if you do your homework.

Usually a dog priced over 2000.00 has either potential for competitions, good qualities for breeding, and /or extensive training. Just remember, if you buy a trained dog  all those learned behaviors will rapidly extinguish unless you learn yourself how to reinforce that dogs education in the method it was trained.

Adoptions are always a GREAT idea. Some really nice dogs are available, and usually the adopters have done basic life skills work with the dogs before you take the dog.

Good luck,
cindy

Jim,

I just read you ad.  Have you considered a rescue?  There are plenty of very nice dogs who meet your criteria and are waiting for a forever home.

THERE WILL BE A LITTER OF LITTLE DINKIES THE END OF THE MONTH.  I AM TRUSTWORTHY AND HONEST BEYOND BELIEF JUST LIKE MY DOGS.  YOU KNOW WHERE TO GO FOR THE REAL DEAL.

then your best bet is to contact a rescue organization! You are looking for something that will be hard to find! A guality gsd with faults such as what you describe !I think you need to educate yourself more on the breed!
