FYI- I just saw this while browsing the horse classifieds and posted it here in case someone happened to check here for the dog. I have no firsthand knowledge of the situation. The person who posted it doesn't seem to think he was dumped; she thinks he fell. It's unclear if she actually saw it or not. I thought maybe the moron who lost him may not have known where he fell out and wouldn't know where to start looking, and so many people read this board I thought it was worth a shot.

I'm not sure I'd give a dog back to someone who let it ride in a truck bed...but that's just me.

Maybe the guy assumed the dog fell out.

It's more likely a dog would jump out.

Either way, he would (or should) have had to witness it happening before making the statement.

If he witnessed it, why didn't he catch the vehicle? ("he picked him up")

The dog also could have gotten loose nearby, and was running near the road.

The owner of the dog has been found. I emailed the woman who placed the ad and offered to pick the dog up and foster it. She let me know this morning the owner had come forward. Lets hope they take more care with the dog this time...

I see it all the time out here.Pick ups with dog in the back not secured in any way. Then again they do it with kids too!! Yet it is illegal to have your dog in your vehicle even if it isn't hot out like now...it is in the 40s.I don't get it!!!
Common sense isn't too common
