He definitely wasn't black. I used to have a link to somewhere that said he was brindle,and I also used to have a great, very clear pic of him where you could see the brindling on his legs. Some of the fuzzier pictures make him look like he could just be sable. http://www.gsdca.org/GSDReviewed/BDOGS/Beowulf.html  Sorry, I can't get the link function to work. You'll have to copy/paste. I will keep looking for the clearly striped one I have, and the statement that he was actually brindle.

more than likely, a mix.  If not, then one dog out of hundreds of thousands - a rareity!  Too bad it can't be bred, no papers LOL - really, it's a mix.
