How would owning a dog of any breed be relevant to most insurance claims???  They don't play with matches, and they don't force folks to slip on the ice on your stairs....   I could understand if they wanted an extra rider for dog bites or liability directly associated with the dogs, but a dog has nothing to do with a leaking hot water tank or a slip and fall accident, imo.

This policy by Insurance  Companies in the USA has been in exhistance for over 15 years..Had it happen to me in Gal co before I moved here..to  East Texas..

They use a scale of Dogs that are Inheritantly DANGEROUS Breeds and they use it to determine the  MAYBE of the ratio of  how many of these owners of their insured properties MAY COST the insurance company a mega portion of money to be distributed. , by the number of DOG bites, maulings, and killings by a certain breed of dogs and if owner of property has such a dog of one of these breeds on this list...YOU either get no insurance by this Insurance Company or a Limited Policy, with certain , Omissions of coverage at DOUBLE the premium price per year.  You must provide the picture of the dogs and how many and they watch you like a hawk...Just the way it is..

You have to find Insurance Companies that are DOG freindly and go by your Past Records of safety and holder of no claims as good customer value and pay the normal rate of insurance for your home property.
