Yes, and they do have her in fantastic condition!

PS. Her forehead, eyes, and ears are all very boxer-ish.

I know I mentioned this before, but she's not overly large, her paws are smaller and her bone structure finer.  To me, this rules out mastiff, great dane and pit bull.    She's only supposed to be 50-60 lb. As to her "fantastic condition", thanks, but she's only 8 months old.....I think it's all her and not us!

She does go on point, and is very interested in sniffing and following squirrel trails.  I thought she looked a little boxer-ish at first, but have had a friend who is a breeder say that she really doesn't have any similarities to boxers at all, even the coat texture is different.

I love reading all the input though!  I might have to cave and pay for a DNA testing, since my curiousity is not likely to let up!

Don't waste your money! My friend's champion AKC pitbull came back border collie!

Don't rule out a pit based on size.  A properly bred pit is not a large dog.  I knew a double registerd pit bitch that maybe weighed 30 pounds.  I would rule out a pit based more on lack of muscle and jaw width.  The same could be said for the boxer but I would point out the the deep chest, maybe the heavy flews.  Boxers are not near as muscle bound as a pit.  Does she use her front feet a lot?

You asked about a double coat.  This appears to be a single coated dog but to know for sure, run your hand against the hair and see if there is a soft undercoat beneath it.  Boxers have one coat, labs have an undercoat.  The tail carriage is like a lab's, definitely not a boxer.

Still, since it is a cross, both parents genes are involved and one can put more of a stamp on the pup than the other.  My guess would be boxer / lab cross.   My family has both and I could see this being a result of such a pairing.  The head & expression remind me of a lab more than anything.

She is gorgeous!  Enjoy her whatever she is.

The ears say Lab to me - the size/color could be Plott - but more likely Pit Bull or Boxer.  Very striking, good  looking dog.

Since when does AKC recognize Pit Pull Terriers?
Do you mean an Am Staff?  Or UKC?

I too have heard those tests are worthless.

To the OP, Pit Bulls can get to the size of your dog, so that mix is
not out of the question.

This was my old girl Crowbar.
She was a Pit/Beagle cross.

Ok, yeah, probably Am Staff. I don't know enough about bully breeds to remember which one it is!

if it's akc it's am staff- if it's ukc it's pit bull - really basically the same thing - semantics :)
