The water in the pool cover was frozen yesterday and today it was almost 70' F.
I am not ready for winter but I will take frozen ground over mud!

Texas is getting a first freeze tonight here in Tyler...Snow in forecast for tomorrow...I have to Ring the Bell for Salvation Army tomorrow...A family event..>This year Salvation army is not paying people to ring the bells...It is programming Families or volunteers to do the job....I found all my woolens and my mittens and my tights ,fur lines boots.and am ready for whatever I have to do...

Good Hot coco, too..  LOOKS LIKE OLE MAN WINTER IS ROLLIN RIGHT ALONG....

Dogs are so wild and lovin' it. I put them all in the barn except the plush coated ones...they curl up in their house ,I hope.
This is what I hope my front yard looks like tomorrow.....this was last year...Just about as much as I ever get.

Here in Houston its 49^ with 60% humidity......the cold isn't the problem, the higher humidity makes the cold FEEL much worse then it is.

The weather forecasters are all excited, they're talking about rain for tomorrow and it might even turn to an ice storm and them snow.......gonna be a bumper car derby Saturday morning. It usually snows about once every few years around here, and these people slam on their breaks if they think they're on ice.....very exciting!

I picked the last of the oranges off of the tree, just in case it really does freeze.

Dogs are loving it, they are acting like youngsters, lots of energy, love to watch them.

It's been in the forties most every day and just above freezing at night, but the last couple of days it's been chilling down.  Last night it was back down in the singles, and today it barely made it above freezing.

We've had snow fall twice, but it's all melted off so far...The next time I don't think we'll be that lucky...

Here's a picture I took on December 2, 2007, after we'd spent the entire morning and some of the afternoon shoveling...More than twenty inches of snow (I think it was twenty four that time) had fallen, starting the evening of the first, overnight.  My truck was buried, and we were miserable by the time we got all the paths dug out so that we could get around.  Thank God for backhoes...I would never have been able to shovel our whole driveway and everything else out every single time it snowed...We had more than ten feet of snowfall that winter, and last winter as well.  Am I prepared?  Not any more than usual.  I'll keep my chin up, though.  We'll deal with it like we always do.  Welcome to Winter in North Idaho...Nothing you expect...And everything you don't!

I forgot I'm only in the midwest,  Hodie thats cold.
Location, location, location......
Thats a nice snow Crys, I'd rather have a nice one and drier air than the wet snows we get here.
Hell I'm getting old too I guess, not looking forward to winter.
This is something new for me, I usually love it.

Anyway,
I already have the mud, might as well have the cold.
It doesn't even phase the dogs, but I made some shavings and bought a bail of straw anyway.

I hate cold. The older I get the more I hate it.
Add wind and/or dampness of any kind and I am one miserable bitch.
The very LAST thing you want to say to me on a nasty day is "I love the 4 seasons."
Grrrrr....
