That makes me so angry.  I can't stand it -- sick FREAKS !   People who mistreat animals typically end up doing the same to people.   

Oh my Gosh! How can people do such a thing? That poor cat! No animal can ever be as cruel as people can be!
Sending prayers and hugs for a full recovery to this poor guy!
Please keep posting information about the progress!

Huh. I'm in IL. I'd like to know who this creep is, because *I* think it would be funny to do the same thing to his testicles.

I pray the cat makes enough of a recovery to live a decent life and someone will give the love his life has lacked.

My fiance suggested we make our new kitten an outdoor cat and my resounding answer was "HELL NO!" partly because of things like this.

That is so sick. Poor baby.
How can people be so mean.

We have some sick people in our world.

They will do that to people too and also to dogs...I do not let my dogs out when I am gone...people are cruel and in the country I have heard some horrible tales of what people do to cats and dogs ......

Hope this kitty gets some   CATNIP soon..

This is my grandkitty  Butter and grand schnauzer..Bisquit.  Butter is declawed and never been outside.

Its hunting season,
The cat may have been a convenient target for practice, or it may have interfered with someones hunt.  
Or a hunter might have been frustrated by a bad day at hunting and shot it just to kill something before calling it a day.
Or someone did try to kill it just for fun, the cat may have been considered a nuisance by a neighbor.
There are so many explanations.
I've seen it happen to dogs as well.

I rule out the hunting because it is a target tip on the arrow.
If they intended to kill it, they did a poor job.
This is hard to imagine but its not nearly as cruel as many other things that are done to animals.

I have shot more than one Ferrel cat, and more than a few dogs who came after livestock because someone dumped them in the country to fend for themselves.
But a hunter is obligated to track and retrieve wounded game by law.

I guess on the cruelty scale its bad but not the worst form of cruelty.
Some people just don't care about animals.     
Some don't care about humans either.

I had to scroll through quickly once I saw the first pic, I have a weak stomach for injured animals and blood.  That said, I would love to string up the person or persons who did this, I had the same thing happen to my dog when I was in high school.  He escaped before I left for school and wasn't back when I got home.  I called around and the ?humane? society said they had a dog fitting his description who'd been tied to a tree and shot with an arrow.  We went to pick him up and they had him in a cage, filthy, caked in mud, arrow wounds in his head and side.  The head shot grazed him but the side shot went through his ribs.  They had done nothing but pull the arrow out and put him in a cage!  The woods where he was found were only a few blocks from my house.  Luckily, we got him to the vet and found that the arrow had missed any major organs and he recovered.  I never found out who did it.  I have some pent up anger from 40 years ago and this story brought tears to my eyes.  How anyone could be so cruel is beyond comprehension.  Serial killers in the making.  Sick, sick, sick.

I guess I have seen things so much worst that I'm not that shocked.
I had a dog shot by a neighbor and the dog made it several hundred yards before bleeding out and dieing at the side of the road.
I know who did it, he knows I know, he's not as sick as he is just mean and uncaring.
His time will come trust me, he knows this too.

Either way it was not right and I hope they find out who did it and some punishment is leveled against them.
