I can only second what others have said...she has a super working pedigree, she needs hips/elbows certified before you then go & meet her in person, take her out for a drive, find a marketplace or farmers market where you can take her out & about, see how she handles herself, see how she does with people. See if the owner would bring her to your club & see how she works,(are you far away?)....$1500.00 is a great price, a lot of puppies are that price, & with this girl you have a much better chance to see what you're getting into. Of course, once this guy has had her hips/elbows done, taken her out to work, etc, he may just want more $$$ for her, can you blame him? Just do your homework, & keep a cool head. Easier said than done, I usually fall in love with the dog, then do the homework, so my emotion prejudices everything I learn about them, not too smart. Good luck, & I hope the pretty girl finds a nice forever home, regardless. jackie harris
BTW- Registering a dog that does not have AKC papers can be a real pain, make sure that the owner gives you a detailed description of her paperwork, & explains exactly what needs to be done to get her registered. I know lots of people knock the AKC, but the first question a puppy buyer usually asks is, "Is he/she registered with the AKC?", regardless of whether or not they will actually register the dog. Sucks, but true. Does she have pink papers? I know that getting everything verified & returned from Germany can take some time....with my male born of pink papered parents, it took forever to get the papers sorted out so I could finally register him. Just a thought. jh

Jackie,
I enjoyed your post. I thought to delete mine after I made it since I am so new to SchH myself that my opinions should be taken with a grain of salt. And I thought at least to come back on here to tell Rowdy that, at least... And I am shamelessly impulsive. I'd probably just buy her too lol :-/

Hey Stacy, Thanks! I'm new to schutzhund, too! You're out there doing it & I don't even have a club anymore! That's what counts.....& yes, I'm an impulse buyer, LOL! She's a very pretty girl, I'd take her home in a heartbeat, & then try to learn from my mistakes --the more expensive way of doing things! Not to mention that I have a 19 month old bitch who looks just like her, & my husband would divorce me! LOL! jackie harris

Check her hips and check if the pedigree on Pedigree data base coincides with original especially as far as hips goes. If you want to breed her check litter mates of the dogs at least 3 generations back. If all is good price is great. Buy her. I would.

I just took Pharaoh on 9/21/09 to Kim's vet int Santa Rosa, he turned two on 9/20/09. The vet Kim likes (Dr Singh) is young and enegetic and there are a lot of Shepherds and other big dogs floating through that clinic. The vet tech that worked with us owns GSDs from working lines.
Pharaoh is always friendly but can be a sneaky little jerk. He is really strong from bolting up a hill since childhood. He lay there like he was cooperating and then-a sudden surge at the perfect moment!!!!!! Then he is all cooperative and pulls a second sneak attack!!!!
The vet gave him a little something to woozey him up a bit that could be reversed quickly and he was never unconscious. The first hip shot he took, he thought was not good enough and he redid it. The positioning looked really good and no bad side effects.
I am bringing this up because you don't want to waste your money. I am assuming that she is tattooed. You don't have a relationship with this bitch and you want the best possible xray taken. Talk to Kim.
I am voting with others who say you can't take her without her hips and elbows being evalutated.
There are many here who know the rules about foreign registration transfers. Call AKC.
She is a beauty and does look really strong.
Good luck,
Michele

HI Kim!!!
Thanks for your reply! I actually was going to email you if I decided to buy her, to see if you would help me. I haven't made any decisions yet, Hubby says go for it, but I'm still waiting for a reply from the owner with the answers to my questions,. I will definitely keep you updated.
How's the Rookie/Centra pup? I would love to see updated pics!

I'm so excited. I'm going on Sunday to take a look at her, and if all goes well, JustK9's will be going with me to help me evaluate her. The owner is VERY nice, and is just looking for a GREAT home for her. He will give me a contract that will state if ANYTHING comes back wrong with hips/elbows, he will take her back, no problems. There is another GREAT suprise that I was not expecting, however I don't want to disclose it yet, possibly jixing this whole thing...I will let you all know once I've seen her, and I've brought her home!
Did I mention I'm very excited??? I've also found a Schutzhund Club only 30-45 minutes away (thanks JustK9's!!!!) that works every Saturday. So hopefully I can get working her, learn as much as I can, and possibly get her titled in the next year or so!!! YAY!!!
