Someday when I've more money than I know what to do with, I want to get the SchH vest where you can pull a string and the bottom of the ball pocket would fall out and the ball would drop.

Very inspector gadget!

(LOL) about the vest with the ball dropping out of the pocket.  A couple of people in our club have them.  They work great for the men, but for the women, not so much.  The ball needs a straight shot down to the ground to work best, and there's a reason this doesn't work for some women.

I have a "treat pouch" for my non-SchH/non-GSD dogs that I train as pets.  For tracking I use this over-the-shoulder gas mask sack from WWII (I have no idea where/how I got it, but someone verified it as authentic and it's a great size for a bunch of tracking bait).  I like that a little better since I don't need to clip it to anything like I do the treat pouch.  I would really like a vest now for SchH, even if I don't need all the pockets I'm sick of getting gross stains and slobber marks all over my shoulder and chest when I stash or hang the ball reward.  I also don't want to pay a lot so I plan to get a fishing or bird hunting vest.  Right now when it's cooler I use this jacket I got for $10 that has pockets in the front (good for treats and also fit my reward ball).

nail apron or vest.  when you have multiple balls , leashes, articles or tugs you'll want the vest.  for just bait, a nail apron works great!

For the record, that old gas mask bag from WW2 is so totally cool I would use it for my everyday purse.

For those looking for a less expensive vest, look at this Shooters Mesh Vest for $25.00 from Bass Pro Shops.  My hubby has one very similar to this one and likes it very much (not for dog training, he is a Skeet Shooter and duck hunter, but it looks like it would do the trick):

When you are just getting in to training - you have so many expenses - you can get like Rik said - a vest from Acedmy sports - I bought a bird hunting vests for 9.99 and it works great - although it is a little big for me - they didnt have a womans size - and it is in camo - I would rather have another color - it does the trick.  You can invest in a expensive one later.

I tried the pouches and there just doesn't work for me with my treats and my toys.... not to mention I couldnt get my hand in and out quick enough to reward with just the food...

Haha, Sueincc, I thought about it, but it has some gunk on it that looks like blood (it's not blood, but looks a lot like it and strangers might get the wrong impression).

All great suggestions & great topic! I have a training vest and bait pouches but I also love anything with big easily accessible pockets. When the weather is right my favorite is a large pull over hoodie with the kangaroo pocket in front. When I go clothes shopping I don't even look at stuff with out pockets. It keeps my dog guessing too, if she sees the vest she pretty much knows where the reward will come from, but no vest and she has to concentrate on what she needs to do not where the goodies are coming from. Plus I can be an air head and bags and vests are just one more thing for me to realize I left at home once I'm out on the field..... LOL

Hmm, I wish  this thread  was going on a few days sooner!  My vest just today came from Hallmark, I got the $95 french vest.  Ordered a medium as I thought it would fit over winter gear.  I hope it wont feel too bulky.
I have a nail pouch, but I think the vest will be easier.  The $20 vest from acedemy sports would have been easier on my bank acct!
