Hey Moons,

Ask the vet to do a fecal. Whipworms can cause lethargy, vomiting, and diarrhea( with or without blood) in it. They can be tricky to get rid of, Panacur is usually the wormer of choice for those. I have seen puppies look like they are at deaths door and it turns out to be whips. You could try some canned pumpkin in small doses, it is the all natural kind with nothing added. Good luck and keep us all posted.

Mooms, symptoms of parvo include a little more then the UNFORGETTABLE ODOR, the puppy just doesn't feel right when you touch it,the gums and lips are cool feeling and the color of them is a lot lighter them normal. Also if you touch the lips or gums, they turn white and the color is very slow to return to them when you move your finger. They wont eat, just want to lie still, throw up a clear mucous ever so often.Stool continually becoming more liquid as viruse progresses, which happens very fast. Very weak when they walk, almost falling.Parvo can kill within a few hours. The odor is one that you will never forget, many vets state that they can smell a parvo case when it comes in the door. One of these symptoms alone, could mean something else, but a combination of them makes a bell go off in my head.I've seen several pups with parvo, and these are the symptoms I've seen consistently.I hope its something else, hope the pup just ate something.

All the pups were wormed and she has been wormed again since so I don't suspect parasites.
Wasn't even worried about throwing up or the runny pile of crap, its the red possibly blood in the throw up that has my concern.
I know I won't have any concrete answers until the vet has a chance to look at her.

It would not explain the throw up but maybe Coccidia..... if there is mucus &/or blood in the poop.....  A fecal test would show that or not..... Poopy puppies are no fun.  I hope the little one feels well soon.

Hoping all turns out well for the pup moons . Maybe coccidia ? Have you noticed chicken poop , ducks or geese around the yard ? Dogs think bird poop is yummy sometimes . It can be deadly . I worry alot .  I agree on the panacur it gets most worms and giardia. Maybe a little antibiotic to give the pup a head start on whats going on. Amoxacil

The bloody stool from what I have seen,is merely a little tinge to the watery liquid of the stool, not something you can really identify as blood.I don't mean to be blunt, but if it's parvo you'll be lucky if the pup is not beyond help by tomorrow.Sorry for saying that Moons but thats been my experience.

If she's still drinking water, remove the water and replace with unflavored pedialyte,it replaces the fluid and electrolytes, the pup has lost during diarrhea and vomiting. It seems to give the pup a little more strength to fight off the virus. If its parvo, she'll quit drinking before long,so do this as soon as possible.

Wishing you and the pup a speedy recovery.
