ewo was bred by my very good friend, rita wuyts (heksterhorst) aras was owned by eddy moonen (haus moons) before being sold here in the states. rita and eddy have trained together for years. rita still owns flipsy and i have a 2y.o. female out of her G-litter. i also have an older female from a bitch out of eddy's kennel and similar breeding to aras. rita and eddy are wonderful people and would be happy to answer questions about either of the dogs.

I am the owner of Ewo. He is one of the very best dogs I personally owned in 33 years. I was not holding back information about anything. The vet said his hips looked pretty good, but there was a little of something on his one hip. He said they should pass, but you can't tell for sure, what the oFA will rate. I don't know his score or I would have told Melissa. I personally don't over react to OFA findings. I can read between the lines. Ewo so far only has 3 litters on the ground. Only one old enough to evaluate about 3 years or so. second litter about 8 mo. or so, last litter from my own breeding just 5 mo. old. I have not heard of any bad hips from, that first litter. I have heard alot of good things. One son I saw personally, and and felt he was outstanding.I personally feel fortunate to own EWO. He is close to my ideal dog . No dog is perfect, or produces perfect. Until I would see a propencity to produce trash hips, I feel fortunate to breed to and have him. And by the way, he does not work out of mostly defense. He is A VERY CONFIDENT, STRONG NERVED, and has a very high fight, drive, with a serious edge, is social, around kids and neutral people. He has that wonderful balance I believe to do real service work as well as sport, and is a loyal family dog and protector as well. He is my kind of dog. I Think Melissa might be better served to get an older dog, one that can fill her wildest dreams. Get your pocket book out. I have no desire to hash anything out on this forum, or to have to prove anything to anybody.

Hi Guys,
Well, there you have it! Dale finally spoke . This is the current owner of Ewo and the person that won't give me videos and hip rating or documents. Hunterk9 yes it is urry litter I am talking about. GSDPACK my issue isn't with the breeder its with the owner of the stud. Reason being I am interested is because the pups are affordable and have great bloodlines in the pedigree. I had to come on this database to get all of your professional help and opinion on this dog. I try to get it from Dale but he was being rude in the emails so basically this is where everything boils down to. I'm not hear to bash and start shit with anyone. I just wanted the truth and opinions on Ewo since Dale can't give me evidence that I asked for. Its as simple as that. I'm too old to start arguing back and forth because this is childish shit. The breeder is willing to give me a health guarantee because he stands by what he produces. Vickie I'm going to send you a PM of the female to get your opinions and thoughts. And Dale I'm not going to get my pocket book out and spend thousands on a green dog in this economy. You have no ideal my situation to think I'm going to spend a fortune on a dog at this point. Maybe when I'm done completing dental school and have the time and money (funds) to spend on a dog of high caliber. This is my project dog and I have plans (goals) to accomplish with him and also be a learning tool. You always have to start somewhere!!
Thanks all for your help and comments. I really appreciate it ...truly I do!!

Melissa,
THINK REAL HARD ON WHAT I AM FIXING TO SAY!
I OWN(HAVE OWNED) 3 puppies out of Ewo's first litter! They will be 3 years old in November. 2 of the 3 had prelims done at 22 months and were rated as FAIR! This one http://www.pedigreedatabase.com/gsd/pedigree/534304.html has not so great PinHip scores either. I had a discusison with a person on PinHip and was told the rating on this other puppy is pretty much equivalent to OFA Fair!
I will be getting the only female I have, which is Aliz v. Waldhugel, her OFA soon as I can. I would not be suprised if she was OFA Fair as well.......sooooooo, that is 4 puppies out of the litter that we will know FOR SURE what their hip status is!
Do you still want to take that gamble with so many red flags,
1.) stud owner not meeting your requests (which I don't think are unreasonable....every tom, dick, and harry pretty much has a camera phone that makes short videos too!)
2.) not sending in the Hip x-rays for a bonafide OFA rating
3.) his rudeness and reluctancy to answer your questions
4.) First litter's results on the hips! (biggest DEAL BREAKER if it were me! I have been around long enough that I can gage what I think the lines are producing and don't need to rely on any scrap of info I can get from a rude stud owner! And I have no doubt he was/is rude....his post above leads me to believe what you say is true as he appears more than a little agitated about some of the things I posted! Don't forget...I have talked to Ewo's original owner about his qualities as well when I was purchasing out of his litter and also bought 3 puppies from that litter!)
And, by the way, the original owner was not a "breeder" per say so I got NO guarantees on my dogs.

RDH : I think people are judging some things they do not know about...you have your info and you have opened a can of worms..up...no need to be digging urry's litter...It is a very good breeding...he is not at fault..he has the info only that was given to him...and that person has spoken.....He has many people ready to put a deposit and the breeding is a very good one......
By the way, in case no one told you...there are no guarantees as I see some hips in the other pedigrees presented to you that have noch in them so what is the deal... A fair hip is a fair hip... many ofa good and excellent dogs by reputation produce bad HD>>.these two paired , as stated by others,,,are know to be good in reputation...no hip rating or exrays can guarantee anything....Maybe you need to buy a pup from someone else...You now have negative info in your brain and the pup will never be satisfactory to you....They will probably be too much pup for you from what the guys say....
.. hope you find the right pup...But do not always believe all you are told...keep checking and you be the judge...
urry is not hiding anything so drop that suggestion in the out box..as you go by it.
yes I am peeved...one of my biggest is running down people who do breed good dogs and have that reputation and do stand by their word
YR moer that some podiums winners I know.....

Good Post Y.R i do agree that some good people are put down and reputations ruined, ALL letters and correspondence should be dealt with from buyer to breeder in a private manner, if the buyer is not happy with any thing and cannot get the assurances or answers they want from the seller then they can walk away,
I do not see the need to publish a kennel on any forum warning others that this MAYBE or is a bad kennel for it is only the word of that person WHO is probably wrong anyway in many cases, and it only needs one wrong to ruin a kennels reputation or put doubt in the minds of would be purchasers
I have often said words cannot hurt as an individual like myself No, words cannot hurt me,
But it certainly can go a long way to ruining a kennels good reputation which is different altogether
RDH
No offense meant but you can get a good young German Shepherd Pup from the Unwanted Dogs home, a Pup can be given a good home and you can work and learn together, when the time is right and finances dictate then you will be well prepared for the little forays you will have will a high drive Pup of top working ability, and you will certainly be tested but at least you will have some experience of what lies ahead
But the main thing is you will be giving an unwanted Pup a good caring home first and you will learn together, 12 months on who knows you can save and look out and pick the Pup of your dreams then to work as you want. This is what i did when i lost my little Heidi and she was all i wanted in a Pup, so i waited and i was rewarded with Izzy just as driven as young Heidi and the wait was and will prove to be worth it

Hey guys! I know this little dig(Yellow Roses and Steve1's post above) is towards me and I gave FACTUAL information about the 3 puppies I have had out of the Ewo litter and the other puppy who's PinHip status is listed on this database........that is 4 dogs out of a litter we have "for shit sure" information on! Now, you have 4 dogs with Fair Hips out of the litter and Ewo has NO OFA and the stud owner for some reason won't send in the xrays for OFA..........says his vet read them and one hip is questionable,
4 Fair hips out of the first litter + Ewo having not so great hips = Ewo's hip issue ISN'T environmental AND he is possibly not such a great hip producer!
I have no intensions of RUINING anyones kennel! I don't play that way and Yellow Rose knows me well enough to know better! And, if you read above it is clear that the stud owner being rude WOULD NOT have been the deal breaker for me!
If Urry and Yellow Rose or anyone else is offended by this INFORMATIONAL thread then there is nothing I can do about it! I NEVER SAID Urry was bad or had a bad kennel! I DID say I think the STUD owner is RUDE! Honestly, Urry should have had a wealth of information about the stud he used so that he would be educated and able to answer the buyers questions and the stud owner not have to bother with it. The stud owner isn't selling the puppies, so it is not his responsibility to display good salesmanship.
Urry, I wish you much luck with this litter......what's done is done. I don't know why the stud owner not sending in the xrays to OFA wasn't a red flag to you? Also, Urry, think like Madonna.......Bad publicity isn't always bad! This thread probably got you more attention for your litter than anything! I am sure you won't have a difficult time selling the puppies.

sounds like a very nice dog in the work and temperament, but why would you be interested in a puppy from a sire that is untitled (no titles listed on the pedigree), hips that are not only unrated but questionable according to the dogs' own owner (?????) - no progeny to speak of with high praise (yet?) - why is this dog even being bred (yet?) without passing hip rating (of some sort - a-stamp or pennhip if the owner doesn't trust OFA) - titles, something to prove the dog is breedworthy - ?
too many question marks IMO to even glance at a pup sired by him - yet. I would wait and see, if the owner continues to breed him - what he continues to produce (or not produce). Meanwhile there are plenty of excellent stud dogs and breeders using excellent titled, breed surveyed, hip/elbow rated, proven to produce stud dogs with excellent females, to choose from.
