CrysBuck25

by CrysBuck25 on 18 August 2009 - 00:08

I'm sorry to hear about the little fellow.

It's tragic that someone would just dump a puppy because of a problem.  Were they not man (or woman) enough to hold that little dog in their arms and give him rest?

Goes back to the Unwanted thread.  The update on this story brought tears to my eyes.  How horrible!  But look at Annie Oakley, my blind rescue.  The owners didn't want her because she was defective, not worth loving, in their eyes.  I think there's a special place in hell for people who treat God's creatures this way.

RIP, little pup...

Sorry that had to happen to you and the pup.

Thanks Crys. It's very depressing. He was the most loving pup. I couldn't move 2 feet away from him without him getting up and running (as well as he could on his painful pasterns) to me and plop back down at my feet.

I was actually thinking about Annie last night, and hoping that he would have a happy ending like she did, despite his terrible health. What gave me hope was how fiesty he was... He wanted to play! It was so sad watching him try, but being unable to because he didn't have the energy/coordination to walk. Also, he was eating, drinking, peeing, and pooping like a normal puppy! I really thought he might have been able to be saved.

Unfortunately, it wasn't to be. Unlike his heartless owner, I will be missing him.

that is just heartbreaking.  the pictures alone make me want to cry.  I am so glad you made his last day on earth a peaceful one.

Poor, poor little man.  I wonder if his previous owner might not have caused his injury.  Perhaps that is why he clung so tightly to you, he found someone kind and relished it.  Thank you for taking him in and giving him much needed love.  Too bad...he really didn't have a chance.

Thank you Freda and Debi, I appreciate it. And it's entirely possible the previous owner did it. He/she obviously didn't mind leaving him to die, so I very much doubt they'd care about causing injury to him.

Oh, how sad. Bless you for giving him one last night of love and making sure his passing was kind and gentle. His owners will get theirs, in this life or the next. Karma is a bitch. I would take out an ad in the local papers and write them a nice letter.

Franquie,
Thank you so much for taking in the little guy and taking care of him,, I am so sorry he had to be put down. Those special ones get into your heart somehow...just like Annie Oakley did all of us.
He knew some love for a day.
Thanks again, Steph

You are exactly right about that Krazy Bout K9's. I told myself I wasn't keeping him, and knew there was a chance he'd have to be PTS, but he was so sweet I couldn't help getting attached to him. I really feel terrible that I couldn't save him, even though I know it isn't my fault. But he was so dependent on me, it makes you feel like you really let them down /:
