I would second the other poster and suggest to you a raw diet, specifically prey-model based.
My dogs (12 years old and 18 weeks old) have been on this type of diet since they were weaned and have done exceptionally on it. My 12 year old has never had a health issue in her life (knock on wood) and I really, truely believe this has to do with her diet (and excerise and care).
If you would like more information please let me know and I can point you in the right direction.

Please tell me more about the raw food diet that you feed your GSD's, would maybe like and try it, if only partially at least and see how my dogs like and do on it.
