Countdown …. Gene is leaving for NY today. If anyone attending his seminar would be kind enough, I’d appreciate some pix of Debbie’s round table. I’m curious how it’s built from a construction standpoint.

Regarding Wallace’s message:

Gene taught me tables in 1991. Over time, I modified some of what he taught me, and tried to accomplish the same results in a slightly different way. Example:

I used the square table for several years. During that time, I found I could remove the spinner on my round table, and replace it with a stationary eyebolt and a short (but adjustable) chain. For me, this often (not always) took the place of using the square table. I feel I did the same exercises, in the same way as Gene taught me, the only difference being height.

Does this mean I did something right? Or something wrong? I don’t think there’s an answer to that. I think throughout my 11 years of tables, I did what I was taught, but I always felt there was a little room for experimenting. My round table design is an example: in FUNCTION, it was exactly like Gene’s. In FORM, I believe I improved some things at a construction level.

I’d like to add this ….

For those who attend Gene’s seminar, I would bet $5 that you want to go to another one! Once you experience truth and reality about table work, you’ll no longer wonder about what you’ve witnessed with your own eyes.
