I do enjoy watching the ones that argue to the point you think they hate each other, but when it comes to a dog in trouble they will work together in harmony. I have also seen many on this boad who will help other's when in need. So, for me it is worth the BS, which I ignore. I have learned a lot about the health of the gsd, from other's asking for help with thier issues. I would also like to add, with all of the questions about a pup/adult getting out of hand, I would love to think at least a few of them listened and the posters who responded may have saved another one from going to rescue with thier advice on how to gain back control.

As long as I have a German Shepherd,(Since 1985), I will always be in LEARNING MODE. The majority of the people on here, are sincere, and love the breed, and have alot to offer, with advice etc... I have made friends with a few of the people from Germany, and have kept in contact, and bought my pup from one of the breeder's. So far, so good! (With the pup.)
People are human, and no one is perfect.
Oli...If it was not for you creating the Pedigree Database, I would not know what I know now, and am continuing to learn from people around the world.

I have learned to share knowledge, learned to be a little thicker skinned, have found many friends here, one of which will remain close to my heart forever.... made many new acquaintances, and also have found the great love that all people who post here have and that is for their gsd. No matter what they come here for, everyone signs off having received something that they will use or remember in future days. A lot of good products and how to use them, training tips, and useful breeding techniques all have helped me.
Many people have come here in despairation when after hours they felt trapped to hold their gsd and cry and ask anyone awake and posting "what do I do?"...many a problem can be solved here. Many hours of just looking at gsd pictures brings peace to some who cannot train.
'Thanks to Oli for giving us the opportunity to turn the pages one more time and reach out to the four corners of the Dog WORLD."
There are people on here that have made a big impression on my life and were it not for having signed in here, would not have experienced that bond..jpg)

I've learned this forum is often like the Jerry Springer show of forums, that folks spend inordinate amounts of time and energy being horrible to one another, and often gang up on others they don't know, opine about events they did not witness and occasionally, on the other side of the coin, some can be helpful and supportive, helping folks understand how things are done if not always why.
The db:
I've learned most folks know more about the lineage of their dogs than the do their own geneology, at least the names and
titles. They'll often never know the stories that went with those names, the work and worry it took for all those ancestors to accomplish all those titles but quickly point to all that history with pride while their mutt dumps on the rug. The irony is
hilarious. I've come to understand what all that alphabet soup means, that the registries and cert organizations and testing and training organizations all have thier political structures, dues and politics pretty much making a mockery of their mission statements. They set up those who have some success with seminar circuits and venerate those heroes of the various sports same as foks do in any endeavor on Earth. They listen and read their words intently and regurgitate the mantra du jour with utter conviction. In spite of all that, folks get together and play with their dogs and joke with one another and share their love for the dogs and the work they can do. As someone else pointed out, it's usually very entertaining.
