Especially with a young puppy, you don't want them to be squirting for a long period of time......it can become dangerous. Plug them up to keep from dehydration, then worm them, then get them on a feed that they can tolerate as quickly as possible...............

my dogs looked so bad I wanted to cry. My friend has been feeding with The Solid Gold for 2 years and her dog looks fantastic. I guess it depends.
Puppies do tend to have "runnier" poop if there is too much in the food. I learned (correct me if I am wrong) that too rich food in mutrients, maybe fat and protein is as bad as not enough. I am done with experimenting, I have one brand of food and I change the raw meat supply. They have change and the same (about the same) intake with variety. I am a Cheeter .. :o)

I can't imagine any one considering themselves as breeders that would send a puppy to a new home without giving instructions on what to feed and how to feed the pup.I also explain how to change the food gradually if they don"t want to continue with the food the pups on.I don' suggest feeding raw to puppies for new owners,it's just to risky for people that don't know how.I feed a kibble /raw diet to my dogs and can witness the benefits of it,I just feel like it should be done with experience.I don't know what other people do for diarrea, but I would never give canned dog food or anything else the pup wasn't used to eating to try and control diarrea unless it was something very bland as yellowrose suggested, rice, cream of wheat, boiled chicken ect.For me,the added expense of a few cans of goat milk and a good deworming program is well worth the few extra dollars . I would be ashamed to produce a litter of puppies that weren't in the best of health, because I wanted to save a few dollars in kennel supplies.I want to be known as a breeder by the pups I produce, not by the amount of money i've made from the breed.
