May not be a seizure. Might have been a tooth issue, but also as the puppies face grows structure wise the lower jaw muscle may get stuck, similar to humans. Don't rush to conclusion, please research with your vet how seizure activity presents itself. I hope this helps.

Is there any more new on this puppy? Hopefully it was something insignificant but my first thought was to ask if the puppy is from the same lines as the other dog that died? We had an older dog that began to have seizures and the first time this happened I initially thought he had got something stuck in his mouth and was choking, his jaw was locked open as you describe, for a while before he went into full convulsions...
