Automotive Service centers are a profit center for a dealership.  They are not Unionized.
However, most automotive care Is $70-80 an hour at Firestone, Midas, Goodyear etc.
I know cause I own a Ford and its always at the shop!

The average auto worker makes $27 an hour at GM. A nice living wage.
The quoted '$57' an hour is BS.  That is $150,000 per year on a 40 hr week.  No one makes that. Not a Union worker.
Thats a Zio Smear Job against Union workers.

Their Health care is extremely valuable and expensive for Union members, DUE to the fact that we have to subsidize the healthcare For Illegal Aliens, and it raises all of our costs.  Foreign car menufactureers Subsidize their Own health care costs (Of workers) and dont pay for Illegals' costs. Thats the difference and its major.

The International Banksters dont care about Americans.
We've been sold out.
Union leadership also sold out and shouldve been RUN Out, by their members.  It started with the steel Unions in Pittsburgh.   'They' BK'd or busted the Union and all benefits. They got nothing. No benefits, nothing.
Then cheap steel from Japan and elsehwere.
Now its auto workers.
Be careful what you wish for folks.

As GM and the Auto manufacturers Go, so goes America.
May I remind everyone, that the Auto Companies got their First bail Out under Bush, Not Obama.
The More things Change.....Meet the New Boss. Same as the Old Boss.

Obama..Chains we can believe in
Ray...take a chill pill.

well smack my grandma; ugly dog is spot on! First union to go was the mine workers! Very strong union and little corruption. Oil co.bought most  mine owners out  who would not tow the mark! those who would not were shut down. umw is one tenth it,s strength if that. remember the last two mine disasters in last two years. In adequate safety and botched investigations by the feds. Next was bro raygun when he blasted the air traffic controllers union!  The n they got the airlines and raped the employess and stock holders. The govt is systematically destroying collective bargaining organizations in order to get you to work for pennies on the dollar as slaves with o benifits

The only first hand experience I have had with unions was the Teamsters, Carpenters local, The Electrical workers (cant remember the correct name) and the Long shore men.
My experiences were more bad than good.
Things should have been different.
I didn't care for the violence, I've had first hand experience with that as well.
No not all unions are the same except for one thing, the money.
Some serve their members well while others serve only the administrators.
Times have changed and not really for the peoples benifit.
Things could still be better if only the right people had the power.

'The govt is systematically destroying collective bargaining organizations in order to get you to work for pennies on the dollar as slaves with out' benefits.'

BINGO

Until Americans have to eat their own pets to survive, they will allow themselves to be enslaved and will keep uninformed..
We are all Palestinians..

Two Moons correct again- the unions started out for protecting the workers and their rights and then turned in to the problem and cost them jobs- they make money, big money unions dues out the rear end and the worker they could care less about they are mobsters the majority. You watch now that the union has shares in the company and see how the worker is treated now and how his wages and benefits are taken away. I go back to one thing with the auto workers and BTW they make 27 an hour to clean toilets at auto plants not sure were you are pulling those numbers from. I had a brother-jn law who worked in Bedford indiana and he made double  that twenty-five years ago and benefits out the rear end he was sick more than he worked and had complete medical/dental and matched retirement plans and was as sorry as they came with zero education. What you fail to grasp is benefits cost money and when you say 90 an hours that is with the benefits figured in and the cost per hour of that employee.  I have a problem with our dear leader in the tank Obama taking tax money and paying salaries of a employee of a union making twice what I am and the unions sittng back with money enough from years and years of dues not bailing out the company themselves and going to the government which is us to do so= if they cared about the worker they would have made some concessions for them to keep working which most would have agreed to do- the unions force workers to sign with threat that is the whole tactic of a union and it is money they are after not the welfare of the worker but to line their pockets. Some unions are different they protect rights of the workers as well as many worthwhile unions but the auto unions are not the same. I think the trade unions are better than the auto at least their is skill involved and protection and acredation of the workers not so with the auto union no standards  or lisences involed they simply out priced the worker for their own greed and are being paid back with share in the company thanks to Obama. Why did you see every union going for Obama man and giving the employees flyers to hand out to their workers telling them to vote for Obama look at the money the unions throw at the politicans they are not going against them you can bet that. The workers will lose retirement and the investors but the auto union who does not have a penny invested will get stock how corrupt can you get. Two moons is right on the union administrators you figure the plant in Bedford had 6,000 workers and a union staff of 10 based at the local at that plant and the dues came out bi weekly lots of money for the small staff that did zero for the most part but plan a company picnic once a year with GM's money not even money from the dues they collected quite a racket to me.

Uglydog - If you are talking about my quote of $57/hr, that includes benefits and pension - very much FACT.

Hi Dog Rules ,

The health care hear is the best in the world.   The  health care, I believe that Obama is pushing is far from the Canadian health care. You might be calling Obama dear now,but I believe you wil lnot  be calling him that for much longer.

God bless

You anti unioners still have not explained how gm can close down plants in this country after gettin tax dollar and concessions out the ass from union and still open new plants in south america;india'china. You are as dumb as a rock if you think the unions are to blame for this auto crisis. Well when you have ate your last piece of bread they will still be making cars in india in that new gm plant you help build.funny though when they will scratch thier heads wondering why no one can by a car except the rich in america.
