if she makes it past four days, she'll probly pull through. I had a great dane, that survived parvo as a puppy, but she had alot of stomach problems after wards and was really hard to keep weight on her. It was an every day struggle. The bloody stools is not good. From my exprience, she'll probly die today. I've  seen alot of parvo, from working at a vets office and all my friends and family who don't relize how important it is to give your dogs "all their shot" "on time too"  Ivle saved alot of dogs from parvo by giving them lots of protien, vitiman b shots, which is like speed for a dog and keeps them moving even though their sick, it just keeps them from going down further. and wiping their feet and mouth with bleach.

Have you gone to visit her? She may need someone familliar to give her the will to live. Please don't underestimate this, I have great examples of this in other pets that have gone through very tough times, esepcially a cat I had many years ago.

If she lives through the first 4 days she should make it. Dogs can still get parvo even when vaccinated. Vaccine failure does happen. Yes usually 24 to 72 hours if she had direct contact with feces

update this morning.  she hasn't been at the vet a full 24 hours yet.  no more vomitting, a little diareah, not as lethargic.  they want to try to feed her tommorrow,  and if she eats,  they will be sending her home after that.  does parvo get better this quickly?  I still feel it was a problem with the vaccination

it depends on the dogs will to fight and how many shots the puppy has had, we have has them 2-3 days on IV's and when they want to eat and keep it down that is a great sign.  We see dogs that you would think live and died the next morning and dogs that you would think die leave the clinic in 3 days.  it depends

We have has puppies as young as 6 weeks and as old as 1.5 years come in with parvo.   It seems brindle, black and tan dogs get it easier then other colors.  What do other think of that??  That is what we get at our clinic, we see other but mostly brindle and black and tans.

I have heard brindle and blk/tan colored dogs are more prone to parvo, pit bulls dobies, rotties ect.

The vaccine could have pulled her immune system down then she was exposed and she aquired it.

Sounds like a vaccine reaction to me too.

Pits, Dobies and Rotts do seem to be more prone to parvo than some other breeds and seem to get hit harder when they do get it. One study I read thought that maybe subclinical Von willenbrands might play into it, making the bloody diarrhea worse.   I'm wondering why they gave a full series of vacc in the first place. $$??

most vets, especially the ones in North Texas, do not believe breeders give their own vacc.  they get a pup in, owner says the pup was given all shots by breeder,  vet says BS,  and vaccinates  the pup again.
I have had more than 1 fight with vets over this, and other issue's.

I am not saying this is how it happened in this situation,  but I just don't like vets.
