Yes, and the US, Israel and England supported the Taliban,
Hell, they Created them, Armed them, Trained them in the late 1970s/80s.
They rid Afganistan of Opium production, now its at a record, under our Occupation.
But alas, they Resist our Occupation and bombs reigning down on their villages without regard for who is sleeping-women, children or elderly. Sort of hard to discriminate.
And so, we act surprised when the Tiger we thought we had by the tail, suddenly bites us and actually acts like a what it is- which is aTiger.

Looks like Pakistan is next. Israel fears their nuclear capability, the designes for which were given to them by the USA.

Untill you people understand the purpose of islam you will not understand the conflict or the reasoning behind it in those areas of the world. Remember the borg from star trek? The Taliban need to be destroyed. If Pakistan is not up to the task, the least they can do is drive them all to the Afgan border and we will be happy to do the job.

Okie, have you read, A Thousand Splendid Suns, by the same author of The Kite Runner, Khaled Hosseini? Another gripping view of the changes wreaked by the Taliban, especially on women, on ethnic diversity, and on the educated within Afghanistan. The Taliban are thugs, plain and simple.
I wonder whose side are the people of Pakistan really on? And Moons, it would be a calamity if the Taliban got hold of Pakistan's nuclear weapons. I don't think the US will allow that to even come close to happening. I guess I mean, Obama better not let them even get close! We knew Bush wouldn't. Do we know for sure, now?
