There is some dispute about whether b/t and bicolor are the same gene (as) with the bicolor carrying alleles expressing more black (melaninistic) or if there is really another gene locus for bicolor in the same series (at).
So whatever the puppy is or will become, I don't think people are yet sure if it's even a distinct gene.
This actually surprised me when I first read it in Willis, as the breeding tests to prove it one way or the other should not be hard...

I have bred my girl Dana to this handsome bi-color,
can't wait to see what I'll get, he was extremely gentle and very handsome in person, and
resembled a big bear, but not out of standard big, he is a very happy friendly boy, I'm very excited
about this litter.....
