IT'S THEIR JOB! The citizens of Klamath county pay them to take care of dogs in her situation, not to pass the buck! I'm going to continue to make them aware that people all around the country are paying attention to them, & how they handle their responsibilities. Pure & simple.First by continuing to let them know that an international dog board is aware of the situation. Can't hurt! jackie harris

Nope  can't hurt at all-that's why I am writing an  e-mail right now:)

Sometimes they need a gentle ....shove;) thanks Jackie!

I agree, you shouldn't let worry stop you from enjoying your travels. You did what you could where you were. Who knows if you went back if you'd even be able to find her again. Who knows who may cross your path if you keep going. Isn't there some saying about watering the garden where you are, or something? As you travel (through life, not just on this trip), just do what you can when you can where you are.

bottom line is, if people like you (gsdtravels) didn't stop and try to help dogs like this, noone would.  Calling people whose "job it should be" doesn't do anything but make you feel like you did something to try to help.  And you did try to help.  Personally I would have stayed put right there as long as the dog was hanging around, trying to get her.  Unless she took off for the hills and it was obvious I wasn't going to catch her - I would have stayed there trying.   Unless someone else like yourself who cares, stops and trys to help too - or someone who cares actually lives close enough to there to set a trap themselves and go daily to check it - noone is going to help that dog.  It's very very sad.  Hard to tell you to turn around now that you are 2 DAYS away from there - I wouldn't do that. You may not even find her again.   And if you had stayed put there you may still have been unsuccessful in catching her.

If you did catch her or she jumped in your car, you could have tied her in one area and Drake in another, or put her on leash and let them meet outside the car to make sure they got along before driving with them together.

Hi,

I just sent off an email to them and told them I realized they are understaffed and that maybe it would make their job easier if they contacted a local cable station and/or news papers to help get the word out-I even offered to call for them if they did not have the time:)

Hope it helps ,

Dear Mr Bruce Angrimson,

I understand you are aware of the plight of this black shepherd mix, apparently abandoned dog, told to us by GSDtravels from the online forum at Pedigreedatabase.com. That is where your email is posted. I want to appeal to your sense of decency and hope you can try and find this animal before something awful happens to it. It would ease our collective sense of minds if you could make an effort with the proper agencies who have the resources and the will to do the right thing.

Kalibeck, I'm trying to send this email but my wi-fi connection is acting up and keeps dropping so I'm I can't send emails at the moment, very frustrating. I'm tryng to send to bangrims@co.klamath.or.us

Anybody can feel free to borrow from this letter and send an email, now.
