GSCR some people just aren't going to get it. As evidenced by their posts they're just the find of flamers  your GSD Consumer site ignores.

I'm with Mystere and the others - good on you mate.

Stormhasit, what on earth are you talking about? In the links you provide they're just asking for posts - and with one for good experiences and one for bad experiences it looks to me like they're running a balanced site. And where did it say they didn't have a dog? And Gunsmoke, by your reasoning Oli would have to have a dog of every breed in order to have created this forum. If you want to know who they are why don't you just PM them?

if there can be anyone anonymous on a message board it is the Poster Not the Owner of the site. The owner of the site has to and must disclose his/her full identity and its pretty ironic that a discussion of another forum is happening on this message board just goes on to prove a point.

cheers

what the hell does it matter who owns it anyway? ownership of that site is public record, he sure ain't trying to hide it. and vikram you're 100% wrong, the owner of a site doesnt have to disclose squat in the united states. many websites are run under private registration. if this guy was trying to conceal himself from you nutjobs he would have just got a private registration. and theres nothing that says posters have some right to be anonymous. that's what turned this site into the hell-hole it is.

Just look at the gentlemanly nature of this site owners. They have nothing to hide.

vikram: "if there can be anyone anonymous on a message board it is the Poster Not the Owner of the site. The owner of the site has to and must disclose his/her full identity"

vikarm,i SERIOUSLY challenge you to provide a legit link to a legal site that supports this crap you're spouting. otherwise just admit you're talking out your ass from behind a username which is what that other site doesn't allow ironically

The consumer site owner has identified himself throughout the community on several forums.

I'm with oldline.Vikram, put up or shut up.

GSCR unfortunately you dont seem to understand your own actions, you claim you didnt put "Danny "who you slandered on this site, on your site,WHY NOT? Do you just come here with your vulgar actions and save your proper behavior for your own board ?? My concern is your credentials to act as judge or jury??,and you come to this site acting with behavior you state you would not tolerate on your own site.UNVERIFIED ALLEGATIONS.
I have some news for you! Although this site recently has been visited by a few imbeciles, it is the best dog webpage on the entire internet , so you have a long road ahead of you to even compare in the slightest to this venue..........Matt Dillen

I started out with a similar ideology somewhere in 2003,

In the end you sit up with the facts that you as a board owner/moderator do not know the whole story.

I had a lot of conversations that went somewhere along these lines:

Breeder/Trainer A to me: "There is a absolutely false allegation made against my and my business,  its slander and I will sue you"

ok,  so I remove the comments

Poster B, C, D, E, F on website:  "Where is the freedom of Speech,  Oli is nothing but a biatch protecting puppy mills and dishonest people, I bet he gets paid by them"

I leave these be since I have a pretty thick hide and words don't really hurt me

Breeder/Trainer A on website: "Poster B is a bigot that tries to steal from honet people trying to make a living out of dogs"
Poster B on website: "Breeder/Trainer A likes to feed living puppies to aligators"

Breeder/Trainer A to me: "My lawyer will be in contact, I am suing you!!!"
My response to Breeder/Trainer A: "Good luck, no way that you are able to do that with the current online libel laws"

Which Breeder/Trainer A finds out is quite true and goes on a rampage insulting me rather then Poster B

This goes on for many posts and spans different threads and sometimes leaks into other legitimate topics that have nothing to do with Poster B or Breeder/Trainer A

The thing is that as a moderator,  there is no way you can know which version is the truth,
so either
1) Delete all negative remarks about anything and everybody (and get blasted for dictator-like moderation and destroyer of freedom of speech.
2) Allow everybody to get their say and post their side of the story (and get blasted for allowing false statements and blatant untruths and ruining everybodies business) (note that nobody bothers to try to PROOVE stuff,  they just assume that their word is proof enough)

The world of pedigree breeding will never be civil, when it comes to living animals, people simply take their views extremly personal.

I give the new site 6 months, before giving up.

One side point,  everybody talks about slander  which is the wrong word.

Saying (with your mouth) something false is slander

Writing something false (including online) is libel,

So anything bad about you online should be called libel not slander

I wanted to clear this up.
