AKC won't help you at all. They play dumb and they have no way of helping. They can't even tell you the same story or fact twice anyway. They don't get involved. YOu have to present them a court order and then they still do not do what is needed to be done. Been there done that. So have many others.
YOu have to do your own research , digging, hunting and retreiving the dog..You know that , Shelley, as well as I. I know how to retrieve and recover dogs and autos both.

The local animal control officers here and in a couple of surrounding areas, and most of the vets, are aware my the missing dog. They check the tattoo of every GSD they come across. You can see Brazen's from a good ways away from him. If they come across him they WILL seize him, and he'll be home before night-fall.
I go on petfinder regularly, scrutinizing every sable GSD for 400-500 miles. I contact any org that has a dog that might be mine. It breaks my heart to see so many good dogs on there. I always end up in tears.

I seriously doubt the man placed the dog with anyone involved in Schutzhund. He KNOWS I have connections in the sport all over the country. (thanks you guys! :) I did sent fliers to vets within 100-200 miles, and shelters, but most vets do NOT note tattoos or m/chips on routine visits. I suspect the dog was either given or, more likely sold to a small-time "player", someone who deals in dogs... :-( The guy is always after a buck. When I mentioned that I have the papers, the guy said "They don't NEED papers."
I'll leave it to you guys to surmise what THAT might mean. For all I know he put the dog to sleep and is just lying some more. The guy comes off as a super-Christian, recites scripture to try to make people feel guilty when they question his lies and deceit. (REALLY pisses me off with that!) He fails to grasp the fact that Jesus died for our sins ONLY... He did NOT die for our debts on this earth! By the time I figured out he was a fraud, he had jerked me out of plenty, tried to use his cons on half the community.
Surely there is a special place in hell for people who use the Lord's name for dishonest GAIN.
